  • What kind of pet? Perhaps, a snake, a rat, an old lizard? No self respecting Golden Retriever would be anything but a progressive Democrat. They are loyal, tolerant, forgiving, generous, live to serve, share, and exude kindness. GOP traits are selfish, me, me, me, judgemental types.

  • So Obama is surprised by the reaction to his Iraq remarks. Well, he better wake up. Anything he says that allows for even the tinest opening for the GOP and Press to find fault or fodder for critism is going to result in negative press. It is simply what they do. He needs to sharpen his game. The General Election is not the same as the primaries. The gloves are off. He, also, better be prepared to take his gloves off. His new kind of politics when it comes to the GOP will get him squashed like a bug.

  • Obama needs to get off the nuances on abortion, guns and troop withdrawl policy. The media destroys and distorts any message that is more than a five word slogan. They will Kerry-orize him in short order.

The "hope message" brought him the nomination. Americans, by increasing numbers, are feeling hopeless and powerless in the face of fuel costs, food costs, fires and floods, foreclosures and job losses. If he can give people hope that he will fight for a Marshall Plan Presidency to begin to restore the American Dream he will not be defeated. If he allows himself to get mired in policy details that will be distorted and used against him, the contest will be framed by the GOP and McCain will win despite everything. Obama should be the vision guy. Any thinking person knows that every policy, every Bill, every plan is compromised once elected. We don't need specifics that won't matter a year from now, we need a visionary to layout a whole new broad landscape for this country.

  • Is this a change in position. No. Does it sound like a change? Yes. The media cannot handle anything remotely complex and, of course, they will repeat the McCain talking points as if they were gospel. Obama needs to learn the messaging game fast, or the GOP will define him as a flip-flopper that is indecivise and make him look like they did Kerry. It's time for him to get back to Chicago style combat and take on McCain and his new team. These guys are ready for War. Obama and his team have to take their gloves off whether they wanted to or not. You can't beat these guys by being a gentleman. They fight in the name of Atwater and Rove and Obama better be willing to hit back hard and fast.

  • My thoughts precisely. The Columbian President is in touch with the White House today. The Columbian President calls McCain on his plane. How obvious can one get.

  • The comments from the McCain campaign are, of course, outlandish, but the press will pick them up and make a story out of them. I am so fed up with the cable news outlets (I haven't watched the big 3 for 15 years). All they do is manufacture stuff from gossip and twist someones words to imply a different meaning. They have become of the enemy of the people. We are amazed when they say something credible, when it should be the norm, not the exception.

  • How does even reflect on Obama. Clark was a huge Clinton supporter. He speaks for himself. He is not on Obama's staff. Now, anyone that speaks against McCain, must be an Obama surrogate? I don't see any logic here.

  • It isn't age discrimination when someone exhibits profound geriatric symptoms as McCain does. Ask any lowly attendent in a nursing home and they will identify a few early similarities for you. It is a fact that McCain is showing signs of age that impair his ability to concentrate, retain and think on his feet. He is too old and it has nothing to do with his chronilogical age. It is his efffective age that is the problem.

  • Gregoire has been very successful as Governor and most people think she has been very good. Rossi isn't that well liked in the state after the last fiasco. He pulled some sleazy fund raising stuff last year. I think the spread will be big this time with Gregoire winning handily. Everyone knows he is a republican. This just makes him look less than forthright.
