  • Except for this news and the speech, it was a bad week for Barack, but I also think it gave people an idea of how resilient and tough he is. I think "taking a shine off" or knocking him off his lofty pedestal actually added to his gravitas and made him more credible as a candidate in the long-term.

I usually give little credence to the blabbering heads in the Clinton camp, but this primary really did toughen him up, or at least his candidacy. They've found an effective way to have his staffers send out the really negative attacks, have Obama run with a tougher more attacking style, and yet still have him be perceived as the candidate for hope and change; a delicate balancing act.

  • The other logical extension is that if your campaign is losing to the Obama campaign (that can't win the general election), then the Clinton campaign can't win the election either.

I don't why I'm invoking common sense or logic to the spewings of a campaign that lacks the same, but I thought I'd give it a try.

  • Actually Hillary was caught as a hypocrite and liar since her campaign actually reached out to the Canadian government to tell them to take what they say on the campaign trail with a grain of salt.

  • Yes, he's the head of the DNC and he brought the organization into the 21st Century with better use of the internet and his 50-state strategy, to have a Democratic Party presence in every state. (The DLC-led DNC had allowed those local groups to disintegrate.)

It forces the Republicans to spread thin its money over a greater area since they're forced to fight even in red states. And where we didn't even bother to field or fund candidates, we now are contesting races, building up our local Democratic talent, and creating a support system, and putting out our message instead of allow the Republicans to dominate the conversation in conservative areas. It's a start.

    Help him fund it: http://www.democrats.org/democracybonds.html
