  • Eric,

Could you link to the video? I could have sworn he said "active trannies".

  • A LIE is not a "gaffe", Greg. We need to start differentiating between McCain the dumb ass and McCain the liar.

  • People seem to overlook the fact that McCain is a war criminal. He was shot down on a mission to bomb civilians. He did it eagerly and with great pride. To this day, he sees nothing wrong with that. Why the big surprise that he wants to kill Iranians?

Greg, sweetie, if you're trying to back the Clinton campaign into a corner, forget it. And if you think they have conceded anything here, well, wise up! "I wouldn't use the word you used" is Clintonian for "Yes".

  • I'm pretty sure he meant that the Democrats have a good chance of winning those states whoever the nominee is. He isn't endorsing anyone.

  • I would think that any poll pitting one party’s nominee against two people, neither of whom yet has his/her party’s nomination, would necessarily favor the one who already is a nominee. In this instance, there are between 16 and 20 percent of those polled who don’t respond. That’s quite a bit of wiggle room. Who knows who they will end up favoring? Why not ask these independents if they intend to vote for McCain or for whichever Democrat gets the nomination? Seems like that is the only question that matters.

Posted at April 30, 2008 3:47 PM in response to Fox Poll: Hillary Doing Better Than Obama Against McCain With Independents

  • What I've read about him seems to suggest it. For example:

"In his 1993 memoir "Dreams from My Father," Obama recounts in vivid detail his first meeting with Wright in 1985. The pastor warned the community activist that getting involved with Trinity might turn off other black clergy because of the church's radical reputation." - Chicago Tribune, 4-29-08

    Or this:

"Wright had been Obama's pastor for nearly 20 years. He had brought Obama into the church, helped him find his faith in God, officiated at Obama's wedding and baptized both his children. But Wright had also said a lot of incendiary things from his pulpit about America over the years, things that would be awkward to explain away for a politician hoping to unite the country and become the first African-American President of the United States." - Time, 3-20-08

To be clear, my point is not to critique Mr. Wright, but rather to express my concern over how my candidate has responded, first to the critics of Wright, and then to Wright himself.

Posted at April 29, 2008 10:27 PM in response to Obama On Wright: "I Might Not Know Him As Well As I Thought"

  • But do you really think that Mr. Wright said anything these last few days that he hasn't said a thousand times before? As far as I can see, he's been pretty much the same guy for as long as Barack has known him.

  • "I didn't know him as well as I thought."

So Wright deceived him for 22 years?

My point is, I have to wonder if Obama isn't being disingenuous. I'm going to vote for him, mind you. And I will continue donating to his campaign. This just doesn't sit well with me.
