So What Do You Think McCain Is Trying to Say Here?

The Emerging Mediocracy?
One of the most consistent themes on the internet is the liberal critique of the national press corps (the "MSM"). Supported with the works of people like Eric Alterman, liberals argue that the political press at best superficial and at...more »

Retaining Positions Even When They Hurt You
It looks like I'm all alone on this one. While other liberal bloggers are giddy at the prospect of Barack Obama opting out of the public financing system in the general election, I'm pretty uncomfortable with it. Oh, I understand...more »

The Psychology of Conflict
In a conversation before Super Tuesday, I told a friend that I'd rather Clinton blow Obama out on February 5th than have Obama win at a contested convention after a long and bitter primary campaign. I prefer Obama, but the...more »

Me neither. And I've always liked Obama.
On the other hand, before I endure a wave of "I told you so's" from Clinton supporters, I wonder how she votes on it too.

I'm not asking Obama to stop the thing. I'm demanding that he NOT VOTE FOR THE DAMNED BILL. Is it too much to ask for a chief executive that supports and defends the Constitution?

To what degree might this be a product of the Democrats' monopoly of the African-American vote and racial re-districting? And how much variance are we looking at?

FDR received 61% of the vote in 1936. You mentioned Wilkie - are you thinking of 1940?

From what I can tell the Fairness Doctrine is pretty much dead for good. And any attempt to roll back media consolidation would spark a major push-back from the media conglomerates - and I don't think a President would be willing to risk his entire legislative agenda on the issue.

Well Obama's people should just say "okay." Because they're going to win the popular vote count too.

Let's see, has Granholm endorsed Clinton? And Crist is a Republican, and they want a Clinton nomination, right? Hmm, let me think. Whatever could be happening here?

Okay, I'll bite. Totally improbable, but I'll take the odds....
Texas: Obama 57-42
Ohio: Obama 50 Clinton 49
Vermont: Obama 60 Clinton 39
Rhode Island: Clinton 53 Obama 46Undecideds break late for Obama, giving him a narrow victory, and he wins comfortably in Texas in surprisingly heavy turnout. Clinton's margin in Rhode Island gets cut because of Obama's late visit this week. Clinton drops out on the 6th.
