  • The very worst thing about this pander is that nobody -- I mean NOBODY -- is discussing the administrative costs (to the government and to the gas stations) that would be incurred when turning off this tax nationwide and then turning it back on again three months later.

Those costs alone will add to the debt far more than everyone combined will save in 90 days. It's a freaking idiotic pander, and possibly the most disgraceful move of the Clinton campaign.

Its something she wouldn't dare propose if it had any hope of being enacted.

  • Good intentions do not excuse felonious behavior.

Good intentions do not excuse giving false names and false information to the people you are robo-calling.

Good intentions do not excuse failing to indentify your organization at the very beginning of the robocall.

The script and techniques used in your organization's robocall are confusing and fear-inducing. They are inexcusable.

  • The Democratic Party has an absolute right to dictate how and by what means it determines its candidate for Presdient. This is settled law -- see California Democratic Party v. Jones, 530 U.S. 567 (2000), for details.

  • This explains the incongruousness of the emotionally un-scary music against the scarified images.

I always suspected that this ad had been created by committee. It's one of the reasons it was so ineffective.

  • liam: Why do you think he's asking contributors to donate to a legal defense fund?

He knows that he has broken the law, so he's hiring table-pounders.

  • Perhaps two. Spitzer's assistant governor is an unwilling Clinton supporter, and when he comes out of Spitzer's shadow, may change his position on the nominnee.

  • He's going to resign. He must resign. He's got too much other scandal baggage going on from earlier in his term not to resign over this.

He should resign, then start a second career advocating for the legalization of victimless crimes.

We should pull prostitution and recreational drugs from the shadows, where organized crime can run them, into the daylight of regulation.

  • This is old news.

Markos disclosed that he was voting for Obama back when he submitted his absentee ballot for the California primary. (He was out of town at a speaking date the day of the primary.)

That being said, Markos does not dictate the orientation of his web site, no matter what Larry Johnson might have to say about it. It happens that the majority of his users, aficionados of the Howard Dean 50-state strategy, support Obama, whose own campaign embodies it, as opposed to Hillary's "insult 40 states" strategy.
