With all of this talk of elitism, I have some insight as to why a blue collar/small town person might resent the elite and this focuses on education rather than income, although they usually go hand in hand.I teach Adult...more »

  • Let's improve the tone of contentious postings

For the most part, I enjoy reading the posts regarding the Obama/Clinton battle.  I find I learn through the comments and the various links.  I even find comfort in reading posts which match my own opinion. (I'm an Obama supporter.)...more »

  • Ludmila - I am outraged by your comment. It deserves no rebuttle. You'd better go now, you're late for your meeting. Is your white hood clean and pressed?

  • Thank you! The landslide choice of words in the TPM headline makes me especially upset.

At this point it is very much a perception game. If we lose this once in a lifetime chance for a great leader, how do we tell our grandchildren it was because his pastor was a bit too wild? That makes no sense at all.

Posted at May 1, 2008 8:59 PM in response to Pew Poll: Obama leads McCain by 6, Clinton leads by 4

  • When was the poll conducted? It seems to me that after Obama's speech on Tuesday people would realize what integrity he has when dealing with such a difficult issue. Profiles in Courage.

It might take a day or two but I already see that the MSM really respect Obama. I just hope they stop asking the self-perpetuating question - Will Wright hurt Obama's campaign?

I think all of this has actually highlighted how superior Obama is. When he was speaking and doing the Q&A, he certainly looked Presidential. I can't imagine any other politician speaking so genuinely.

Just wait a couple days for the next poll....

  • I just watched the Q&A and was spellbound. This man is truly remarkable. He is the real thing. You could really see that he is angry, hurt, and disappointed. He was very honest - This took guts. Obama has real depth and nuance. I agree - we need several high profile supers to endorse Obama - Tomorrow - in a sweeping show of support. We can't let him get swiftboated like this!!
