Actually, I think that robocalls timed to end on voice messaging machines are at least as effective as door hangers or slim mailers. The message and the messenger are important, if creatively done many people will listen and it can be effective to plant ideas and associations - negative or positive. Its here to stay and so is political texting. What is more evil and unfortunately effective is the fake polling that Bush employed against McCain in South Carolina years ago asking question about a fictional bi-racial child and the like.
