"past" not "pats."

I see they continue with the "higher taxes" message. That is the message that is really hurting Obama. It is also the message everybody seems to look right pats.

On the tasering business, both sides seem to agree that the Trooper wasn't punishing his son. The kid was apparently curious about the effects asked to be tasered. The trooper tasered his son on the lowest setting as a demonstration. That doesn't excuse the Trooper. He should never have done it, but it is incorrect to jump to the conclusion that he tasered his son out of anger or to punish the boy.
I agree that the supervisor is Palin's real victim

Oh, you are calling Obama the wannabe. Sorry you would be right if you reversed the positions. McCain2008 isn't a real authentic American. Shit I don't know what he is, but he bears no resemblance to McCain2000.

Now that's a pitbull we can believe in.

I have looked at a lot of polls during the last week. Except for this one Obama's bounce seems to be holding. Frankly I am surprised he hasn't lost more ground, and expect that he will over the next few days, but so far this is the only poll to show any kind of shift.
Unless you are already a card carrying member of the Republican base deeply into snark, Palin really didn't lay a glove on Obama last night. She sure didn't give anybody any reason to vote for her or McCain.

You know this is a pretty liberal blog. Most of the people here are bound to be pissed by Palin's pitbull performance. You don't get much of a feel for how the general public views the speech. Oh there are a few paid trolls, but they are easily identified by their talking points.
Anyway I went over to CNN and read the comments. They read exactly like the comments here except they have a lot of folks who call themselves independents. If the comments at CNN are any indication Pit Bull Palin screwed the pooch. The speech is going over like a lead balloon with everybody but the angry right. I anticipate a dead cat convention bounce unless McCain gives the speech of his life. I don't see that happening. He hired Karl Rove's speech writers.
This election isn't in the bag, we still have a lot to do, but I am going to sleep well tonight.

I hope you are right, but I haven't seen any sign that Clinton is actually going to lift a finger in this campaign.

If those are your positions then the only person you can vote for is Obama (or maybe Nader.) Except for your position on guns both McCain and Palin hate you for your beliefs. I am not kidding when I use the word hate. If that isn't evident now you haven't been paying attention.

Matthew you are living a delusion. Look at the polls. They might move a point or two, but I don't know if the point or two is going to be up or down. However they move, they aren't going to move enough to help McCain. Obama is and remains in great shape. Snark is not going to bring him down. Too many people are just too determined.
For the Republicans to win they need a game changer. Tonight Palin proved she isn't that game changer.
