If that's what it takes, fine. Just get her out of here. I never want to see her or Bill again.

Anyone who takes the rantings of either side on this blog as an accurate prediction for what will happen 5 months from now is not playing with a full deck.

Ya know, three months from now, after we've all settled down and heard McCain's plans to continue the Bush administration, I suspect that many who today would take their lives on voting for McCain will have a change of heart. No one who really supports the principles of the Democratic party can afford to make that misstep.
This also reminds me of the folly of 1968, when those who had supported McGovern decided to sit out the election, and the result was Tricky Dick. The folly of bitterness by disaffected Democrats on that occasion is history.

The only reason the rules didn't rule (Michigan and Florida wouldn't count) is because Hillary demanded that they count. That's what forced a compromise, not a breaking of rules by Obama's side.

'Just caught this and will answer it, although I don't know if you'll look back here.
It is, in fact, for the reason that Registered User said: she was casting about for some other marker of a primary season that lasted into June in California, like her husband's did. The one that came to mind for her (most salient because it is the most memorable) is the Kennedy campaign.
If I, on the spur of the moment, wanted to speak of a significant event occurring close to Thanksgiving in comparison to another at the time I was speaking, I might happen upon JFK's assassination, since that is, for me, a highly memorable marker of that time of year. Hillary pulled the same sort of associative memory. To see it as something sinister seems all out of proportion to me.

As noted earlier, she said something similar to Time back in March, but it was just as clearly a date marker, not a use of Kennedy's assassination in its own right. http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/05/hillarys_bizarre_rfk_comment.html
