I've not seen it mentioned, but there should be some mention, I think, of who George Stephanopoulos worked for, prior to becoming a talking head.Along with James Carville, he worked toward getting Bill Clinton elected. I don't recall hearing or...more »

Re: Did Clinton win Ohio etc.
It's always a good thing to get one's facts and names correct. Like, for example Obama's economic advisor, whom you identified as "Austin Goolsby". Wrong twice, he is rather well known, and respected, as Austen Goolsbee. Nit picky, but correct....more »

"...The boomers accomplished the end of segregation, civil rights,..."
That's going to be news to historians. That was mostly due to the civil rights laws passed in the mid 60s ... with LBJ (hardly a boomer) doing the ram rodding. Likewise the end of segregation was during the 60s and early 70s ... while boomers parents were doing the voting. You know, us old senile nitwits. The one's who paid for your education, and a few other odds and ends.

"Ralph Nader's latest "white guilt" comments pushed me over the edge. I'm officially sick of old people."
Excuse me, arrogant 42 year old. I am really, REALLY old. I have detested the never employed, and master of nothing except self promoting Ralph Nader since before you were born. Most of us who do not live in the NYC area share that view. What he is is an east coast Jesse Jackson.
Now, while you are so pissed at us old geezers, what, exactly, have you and your age category, whatever it may be, done for anyone, save yourselves?
Instead of getting your undies in a twist over something that doesn't exist, share with us what you, and your group have done so bloody much better. A rather large number of your group voted for him in 2000, thereby giving GWB the presidency. Me? I'm not all that choked up about your group. All whine and no cheese.

Sorry, but Obama does not know this. I know this from actual conversation with him. Et vous?
I also know that something like 15% to 25% of Hillary's votes were from rabid, racist types. Again, how do I know this? Because I know them, and heard the conversations. If some of Hillary's supporters are so blind and stupid to ignore the supreme court matter, and many others, that they will stay home and suck their thumbs, or vote for some nitwit, so be it. Obama is not about to toady up to people who stabbed him in the back time after time, after time. I've been in politics most likely since before your grand parents were born, toots. I know how the games are played. And a fair number of the players.

"Obama can't win it by himself.
Excuse me, but he did. Against everything Hillary and Bill could dredge up. And the bulk of the Democratic machine.
Actually, Hillary lost. It was her's to win, and she lost. She lost because she had bad advice, miserable tactics, and a large number of people didn't buy the "she deserves it, it's her turn." We are voting for president, not prom queen.

Among the "talking heads" Tim Russert was the lone one who asked a soft worded tough question, frequently many times, making those who were playing "artful dodger" squirm. I suspect Ms Joanne, you did not like his velvet covered iron fisted questions to Mrs. Clinton. But that's OK, John McCain was known to throw hissy fits when he was due to appear on his program. Among those who blab on Sunday morning that only leaves Bob Schieffer who isn't a toady. As it happens, Tim Russert WAS in management.

Mr. Goolsbee is a super smart guy, and VERY funny. Many times one isn't aware they've been cut to the quick, until they see the metaphorical blood. Not anyone Shrubby would care to converse with. Not that Shrub would know what Goolsbee was saying.

"Sounds fine but don't award any delegates based upon a turnout of the more rabid/less busy. If a state wants to seat delegates, the DNC should require that state to hold a primary. Are you familiar with the TX results this year?"
Are you? The state results have not been posted. The Texas Democratic Caucus is today.

Each and every state has the right (United States, remember?) to decide how that state will do the election tango. Aimee Simple Mcfoghorn, not withstanding. So sorry your candidate didn't win, but those were the playing field rules, and she knew them going in. As she told everyone (whether they cared or not)again, and again, and again, she was the most qualified, why didn't she get a grip on the playing fields, and devise a playbook from that? The "empty suit" did that. What someone likes in state a has no bearing on what state b does. Nor should it, as state a has no vote in state b. And when the rules were put down regarding states F and M, she elected to plot a course to sneak through. Didn't work, so now she's crying "sexist". More like sneaky.

I have an answer, as I personally know many, many, many people, women over 50 in particular, that feel, to the depths of their souls that she was "entitled". The tasteless, tacky, deplorable diatribe from that priest was pretty much on target, but just way, way, way beyond the pale. But, many people just KNOW that Obama "stole" her election.
