Sargent, how'd you like that $300 billion-mortgage-buyout-on-top-of-the-Wall-Street-bailout McCain was selling last night? And that's *your* candidate!

I hear you -- it looks bad, but on the other hand she has not hidden the fact of the book. It was addressed in a story Howard Kurtz did for the WaPo on Sept 4. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/03/AR2008090303319.html
There is no way the McCain folks did not know about the book.

I hear from my finance friends in NYC that the next things to watch for are (1) the fall of European banks (and there is nothing like the Fed in Europe to come in and bail them out) and (2) a big withdrawal of money from hedge funds and conversion of that money into cash positions.

The thing from this bit that jumps off the page to me is the way they were proposing to handle someone they were claiming was not competent -- promote him! That is more than a bit telling about the Bush administration, isn't it.

Bring it on. Obama out to make McCain play the POW card, and play it, and play it, and play it, until it means nothing at all to the public. Devalue it and McCain is left with nothing at all.

Seriously, lay off Biden. He has been out there every day, whether big media covers it or not.

Biden, joking, said "she is better looking than me, that's for sure" or something along those lines.

I suppose the other way to parse is with respect to "coming out with interviews" -- that could mean that they are being announced as having been scheduled (not that they are actually taking place) within "the next couple of days."

Nice parsing, but he said "interviews with numerous people" so particular parse is not going to work. I think the more likely parse is the one mentioned above -- McCain does not say the interviews are with folks in the press.
