  • How can Clark be so far off the reservation without Obama's say so? Answer, he can't. It is clear to me that this is no accident. They sent Clark out and told him he would be on his own. This is an Obama campaign black op, I am sure.

  • The guy is running for president and he doesn't have the sense to check to see if something as obvious as an unpaid tax bill is outstanding? Forget the obvious moral and ethical issues and the utter sliminess of it, if he isn't cunning enough to make sure this is tied up before he runs for president, then he isn't sharp enough for the job.

Plus, he owns a condo on the beach in San Diego and he doesn't surf. That's just fuckin wrong. Just wrong.

John McCain, the only guy dumber than Dubya.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha......

  • People who are still bagging Obama over FISA are missing the forest for the trees. Yeah, it sucks. Yeah, I wish Obama had done more. But the notion that he is no different than anyone else or that the Dems are just like the Repugs is silly. 105 Dems voted against the bill in the House. One lone Repug voted against it. Obama at least voiced his opposition to amnesty, something I'm not sure Clinton would have done at all.

The larger point being, yes, Obama is not as far left as many would like. Yes, he isn't Chez and he isn't going to nationalize industries and right all the wrongs of nearly three decades with a single stroke of a pen. But he is the best of what is at offer right now. Of the initial candidates, I imagine the honorable Dennis Kucinich would have strongly fought this bill, but most people just made fun of his campaign. Sen. Dodd too would have fought agaisnt(and he still is) but his campaign didn't go far either. So, Obama is the winner. He isn't the most left by far, but he is far, far, far better than what the other side of the aisle offers.

And moving foward, for those who want the country to move further left, and I do, one has to admit that it will be much easier to move left from an Obama Whitehouse than from a McCain one. So, let's get Obama in the Whitehouse. Let's make that job one. After he is in there, then let's pound him and push him as far left as we can. But now just isn't the time.

And if you see no value in the political process as it is, then you have only two choices. One you can just bag it and take what comes. It which case any comments made anywhere are little more than whining and serve no other purpose but to annoy. The other choice is revolution and resistance, and history and recent events show where that leads. Better to get Obama elected and then work on pushing him and getting more and better Dems into office.

  • I think Greg, and Eric, should let the Clinton stories lie for awhile. The reason being all the animosity that it still stirs up. Look down a couple postings to the post about the media and the candidates. 237, mostly angry posts on that one. Greg and Eric should do like Clinton and lie low. She's staying out of the spotlight and they should let her. It's still too soon. It's too soon for post-mortems on the campaign, too soon to rehash the fucked up shit that went on, and too in the moment to make "will she or won't she" speculations.

Focus on Obama and McCain. Yes, things might be going on with Clinton, but it is just too soon.

    Stop. picking. at. the. scabs.

    thanks

  • Whoopie Goldberg's comments really are the most accurate. What Clinton failed to understand is that her supporters were fighting for her to be the leader of the team, but as members of the team themselves they also believe that the team is greater than any one member. In the face of clear defeat, excluding the fringe who are immersed in a cult of personality, those supporters were reviled when Clinton appeared ready to attack the team. I would imagine that her support among her 18 million strong "army," as Matthews put it so inartfully, dissapeared like a Kitchener brigade at the Somme.

As liam said, the awful truth that has been ingnored all this long time is that Hillary Clinton really isn't all that good of a politician. She misread the political sentiment of the electorate this cycle and tried to run on an experience theme, or essentially as an incumbent. But this election cycle will probably end up as the single greatest "throw the bums out" election in history. On Tuesday she misjudged the sentiment of her supporters in thinking that they would be willing to go against the team in favor of a single individual. And that is just a misunderstanding of basic human behavior.

We are lucky she lost. She would have been the wrong president for these times.

  • you can say it, fur sure. And as you do I will nod my head yes and say "bigtime."

Fuck these jokers. They lost. And praise be to glory that they did because if moronic pussheads like Lanny Davis, Harold Ickes and Terry Mac were to get anywhere near the levers of power, ah fuck.

Hillary Clinton doesn't control shit over here "18 million voters." 95 fucking percent of them are just gonna pull down on the Big O's lever because he's the guy with a D next to his name. The only think Hillary Clinton runs now is her mouth.

Fuck making nice after that speech of hers. But Obama is a better man than me and I suppose he will find a way to toss her a bone, keep her happy and out of his hair at the same time. That's why I want him to be the prez, he's way better at this than I would be. I would just call Clinton and tell her to go fuck herself if she still remembers how.

This is terrible....terrible news for McCain!!

  • just so we know then, can I put you down as a vote for "Harold is a good guy he was just having a bad hair day at the rules committee hearing?"

Seriously, anyone who stands behind the likes of Lanny Davis, Mark Penn, Harold Ickes and Terry Mac doesn't count for shit in my book. They are some of the biggest asshats that I have seen in a long time. They are like Bush's asshat droogies except they lose elections instead of winning them. Asshats like those four are the reason I'm registered an independent. I've never actually voted for a Republican for anything in my life, but I just can't bring myself to be a member of club which has a guy like Terry Mac or Lanny Davis in it. There are some guys and gals on the team who I like, but some are just a fucking embarrassment to sentient beings everywhere.

And why do I think Harold is the biggest dick in the world, well watch some of his performance from yesterday. Dick.

Posted at June 2, 2008 2:56 AM in response to Democratic Race Unchanged By Hillary's Puerto Rico Win

  • The simple reality of the popular vote "metric" is that nobody actually knows what the popular vote is. It isn't so much that it doesn't count, or Clinton's count is wrong, or dishonest(it is), but it is more simply the fact that the popular vote is entirely unknown. There is no popular vote metric, full stop.

I would appreciate it if when reporting Clinton's claim about the popular vote that reporters and bloggers would say something to the effect, "Clinton continues to claim a lead in the popular vote, but the reality of the 2008 primary is that there is no accurate popular vote count and in fact nobody knows what such a total would fairly be."

Oh and Harold Ickes is the biggest dick in the whole fucking world. I think he is even a bigger dick the real "Dick" Cheney. Thank god that him and these other Clinton advisors/punk-fuckerboy assholes will be nowhere near the levers of power in the United States.
