My favorite part is in minute when they show Martin Luther King Jr. looking all awesome and then show Barack Obama looking all shaggy with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. That made me laugh.

I have to say, the symbolism behind this endorsement is huge. To me, it doesn't really matter that he didn't endorse before the WV primary, and I don't think it has to do with him looking ineffectual. Rather, I think his endorsement wouldn't have held as much weight -- it would have been overshadowed by the primary itself. At this point, now, on the eve of Obama securing a majority of Pledged Delegates... That, I think, carries more power.

did you make that pic jefo? I've been wondering about Sebelius for a while. I wonder what would happen if he really did pick her.
Also to Bserious- Thank you for your post. You stated everything so clearly. I've been seething for the past few days over this sexism question. Today's NYtimes about her nomination being "stolen" from her was rediculous. Obama won fair and square. He has been able to lead a serious discussion on race with his candidacy. She on the other hand has whined time after time. Her sexism cries have done nothing to help national discourse on gender roles, and have certainly not helped the democratic party. As a woman I am sick of her and her presumptuous run for the presidency. I will never vote for a woman just because they are a woman. If they don't deserve my vote they don't deserve my vote.Posted at May 19, 2008 10:00 AM in response to POOR HILLARY.

Just so people know. I put this post up just to get people's attention. It was not suppose to have any amazing insight. It was just suppose to be a jolt to get people's minds off of beating up Clinton and alienating her supporters. The General Election is upon us and the bigger the words are that say, "McCain Sucks" or "He's a Slimeball", I say the better.

My post is so far down that I don't think you will read it, but one_wilson, i am really happy that you made this post. Actually, I'm not just happy, I am sincerely thankful. It is gracious and amazingly big of you. I have been an Obama supporter since the beginning and I don't know, if he had been in HRC's position, that I would be as big as you. A lot of things have been said by many people in the party over this primary season, and I think that a lot of good work is going to be accomplished in the upcoming months. But the most important thing to do at this moment is what you have just done so eloquently: reach across a painful divide and shake hands with the other side. What you have just done is integral to beating the awful men and women who haver stolen power for the past eight years (destroying our economy, our international standing, our health care, the environment, eating away at human rights, killing thousands, etc). We can do it.
Good fight. And well done.Posted at May 7, 2008 3:58 PM in response to I'm Done

Obama has also consistently, when faced with some media gaff like "bitter" and Wright, dipped as long as the story ran, and then once it was over hopped back on up in the polls.

I absolutely adore Bill Moyers. I just watched his address on the Wright story, and I loved everything he said. He is an amazing, big hearted, down to earth guy.

My favorite moment in that MSNBC video posted by minjo up there is when the Indiana pollster is talking about trade deals and they immediately cut to some random footage of Wright while he's talking. What did he have to do with that IN plant closing? What does he have to do with Bayh criticizing the Clintons? It makes no sense. Or maybe it makes complete sense.

When I was volunteering in Philly I had a very similar experience with an older ex-Republican veteran. He was awesome! He told me about his long struggle over whether to leave the Republican party and that he finally joined the Dem side because of Barack Obama's stance on the Iraq war. I really liked him. He had a "Veterans for Obama" pin on and tried to help around the headquarters in any way possible.
I felt like a small bridge had been gapped that day. Common ground! It rocks!Posted at April 30, 2008 8:47 PM in response to Another Republican leaves the dark side.
