Technically I think that the DNC is in trouble if they budge at all on their original decision regarding the primaries not counting. So they will have to say that their previous decision stands and th primaries cannot be counted...
Separately they could then offer to seat the delegates of Michigan and Florida 50/50 for the sake of party unity removing any option of them changing their vote/represenation for presidential nominee. To me this is the healthy thing to do. Let the original decision stand. Tainted primaries will not be considered, they do not count.
Then offer a competely separate way of including the two states at the convention so that everyone is fired up for the fall elections...

All you have to do is take Hillary out of the race and let Senator Obama get out and meet the voters and he will get enough of those votes... I think the democrats could win with almost any nominee this year. The electability stuff is just a play for Hillary's desire to be president.

I don't think a presidential nominee advocating for change in Washington and a new kind of politics ought to be rewarding 'politics as usual' and 'kitchen sink politics' by saying okay now you can be my VP. Or okay here... let me pay off your debts and all of your own money that you spent that you shouldn't have. That's rewarding irresponsibility.
We are crying out for change and that includes not having someone like Hillary on the ticket. I really want John Edwards to be VP even though he has said he doesn't want the job. I hope Obama tries again to persuade him. I think he is the best man for the job.
I am not very excited about anyone else.
I wrote to the Obama campaign asking them to hold very separate and clear fundraising efforts if they want to raise money to help Hillary with her debts and then I realized that I would be willing to pay $25 to keep her OFF of the ticket! I suprised myself with that. I don't like the idea of a lesser known more obscure VP candidate. I guess I would prefer Bill Richardson after John Edwards only because I think we need all of our democratic Senators working in the senate and can't afford to lose one. I would like to see a hands on VP that will roll up his sleeves and get into it with Senator Obama... bringing about the changes we are hoping for will take some work and a great team makes it much more possible.Posted at May 9, 2008 7:43 PM in response to McAuliffe: Joint Ticket Would Be "A Great Idea"

She has earned the ear of the DNC but NOT the right to be the VP to a nominee who is seeking to status quo. He absolutely has a right to choose someone who will be able to help him succeed in his goals and not have to deal with all of the baggage the Clintons bring. Clinton on the ticket with rally and unify the republican base. Leaving her off of the ticket is best for every reason I can think of.
I hope he chooses to change the value of VP and chooses someone who will work with him as a partner in making the changes that are needed. I hope that he will choose someone of equal honesty and integrity as well as someone who would make a great president.

I have to say. I don't support Hillary as leader of the senate and I don't think her fellow senator's would either. I think pushing for her to become Governor of New York is more likely. If they like here there, that's up to them but there's no way Hillary and Bill belong on this ticket. That would be a HUGE mistake.
I hope he picks someone incredible that will work well with him and create an awesome team for change in the white house... I hope he does not just go by the usual ideas everyone is talking about. Clearly they have to be someone who would make an excellent president and I agree that he should leave the senators in the senate so that they can get things done once he is in office. Please don't pick someone just to get their state... yuck.. no Rendell, thanks. Someone who share's his values for change in Washington. I was hoping it would be Edwards. I know that they would disagree on some things but I also know Senator Obama wants people around him who will tell him the truth and not necessarily agree with him on everything. I wish Edwards would consider being VP. That could set us up for 16 great years...

Well she just inspired me to make some calls for Barack Obama today. I am from Indiana originally so I think I'll make some calls for the campaign.
The best way I can respond to Hillary's despicable practices is to be proactive and support Senator Obama.I am SO grateful that he is willing to be in this fight, put up with all of this garbage, in order to help bring change to our country. It is quite remarkable to me that he appeared on the scene at this time when our country and the world face so many tough challenges. I am so glad that he is able to inspire us to be hopeful and to participate.
Thank you Senator & Michele Obama!

I think we need to start a campaign appealing to the superdelegates ourselves and we could also appeal to those who have endorsed Senator Obama to do more to throw their weight behind him... start getting some unifying going on...
I feel like Senator Obama is out their fighting for the leadership of our country and I am willing to write 300 letters or do something like that to help.I guess I could suggest it to moveon.org. Any other suggestions...?

I noticed from the first time I heard Senator Obama speak that he is at a level of development where he truly has the capacity to hold paradoxes... hold all of the realities.. and use them to bring solutions or new ideas to the surface or to work with others to do this same thing... he does not have to get distracted in on paradox such as our need for security over another such as our desire for liberty... He can hold them both and let the tensions lead to the solutions..
Problems cannot be solved on the same level that they are created... or often they cannot be solved by he same people that created them for this very reason... their thinking has not evolved enough to transcend and include the problem...
We are truly fortunate that someone like Senator Obama has arrived on the scene willing to lead this country with all of the challenges we are facing...
I really hope that the people of Pennsylvania, Indiana, and North Carolina push his nomination forward so that we can focus on winning the general election and what we are going to have to do to move our economy in a realistic and healthier direction...

I trust Senator Obama to work with everyone to move us toward universal healthcare and bring healthcare costs down.
I do not trust Hillary Clinton with anything at this point.
I am completely against the 'mandate' concept with regards to healthcare. I feel that it is the wrong way to bring us to universal healthcare.
Taxing people for 'having a body' is not appropriate. It is not something they can choose... you must have a body. You can choose to drive a car... so insisting on auto insurance comes with that choice etc.
So, I feel that senator clinton's plan is the WRONG way to go to get to universal healthcare.
I think Senator Obama will bring all parties together and make realistic moves toward universal healthcare. I don't expect us to get there instantly... there are a lot of jobs involved... many things to be considered. Many lives to save...

I agree this is purely spin against Senator Obama.
My feeling is that we can all express our feelings that these TAINTED ELECTIONS must NOT be counted and that we should consider any nominee's status TAINTED should they try to claim the nomination based on these TAINTED elections where voter rurnout and voter choice were supressed. Eseentially I am suggesting Clinton's nomination should be in question and considered tainted were she to somehow get the tainted elections figure into some way of getting her nominated. This is a side of the argument I don't hear.. I just hear the spin that somehow senator Obama doesn't want to include the voters of Florida and Michigan which is hogwash...
I also think we should start really raising a ruckus with those who suggest we should be going by popolar vote. Delegates are the way that has been determined to create an even playing field between all states whether they have caucuses or primaries. To try to bring popular vote into the primary process at this time...ie without changing the rules beforehand is voter disenfranchisement for all caucus states.
We can bring these aruments up with the media until we start hearing them actually talk about it...
