  • Or she could say something like,

"I think the Republican Party should stop giving terrorist organizations political influence in US elections."

  • From your comments and the way you write, you should apologize to all the 'teachers' in your past... and that's a professor of constitutional law.

Perhaps you would prefer a corporate executive like Bush? Or perhaps an uber-leader executive/congressman/SecDef like Cheney? Or are you just wedded to candidates that haven't lived a life with the plebs in the past three decades?

  • With these kinds of pick-ups, I don't hear any discussion about the Democratic majority pulling more toward the right. This won't be the Republicans who couldn't think or vote on their own, but a strengthening of the Blue-Dog block in the Demo party.

Unfortunately, the Democrats will do what we always do... think for ourselves, debate, disagree, and resolve to compromise. The Republicans will then tar us with the 'do-nothing' label, as if that's a bad thing following what they've done to the country.

  • I grew up in Oregon during the 1980s in a logging family... can you say "Spotted Owl" and the Regan Revolution? Logging companies cut pay and benefits resulting in strikes, then they moved their operations to Canada. Anyone who disagrees with Obama on his points is both a fool and a useless wordsmith.

When you yank out the economic security of a family you get arguments, bitterness and even divorce. Let someone 'attack' any of the other aspects of your life and you're going to fight tooth and nail. Oregon has been able to recover due to high tech in the major metropolitan areas, but the bitterness still simmers in the small rural (former) logging towns and it does turn toward guns and anyone who doesn't look or act like you and yours. Oh, and in a lot of rural areas, guns don't equate to conservatives, until you want to limit their use.

I also gotta' say Fox almost looked like... well... I suppose a real news organization. In fact, better than the major networks.

  • Complaining to the FEC is useless. With Spakovsky's nomination blocking the filling of the other FEC seats (see here: http://www.campaignlegalcenter.org/press-3122.html) , they're not going to do any business until Bush is COMPLETELY out of office in 9 months. And guess what? Bush is the LAST person on the face of the planet that wants to limit these groups, otherwise his party would have absolutely no chance at all in the General Election.

The only hope the Democrats have is taking these groups to Federal Court, if that's possible, for a cease and desist order.

  • lbm,

Ed Rendell was willing to change the state's election procedures when the Clinton campaign blew their filing deadlines and didn't seat their delegates. Sure he wants the people of Pennsylvania to have a voice, as long as it's the right voice.

No one wants to talk about Senator Clinton's own disorganized and in-fighting campaign, and how that reflects on her as a leader. How will she run the country when her own campaign blows one of the biggest name-recognition factors in any election ever? The experience that is being repeated is one of poor management and organization. The world has millions of articulate policy wonks. We need a leader.

  • Stop trolling around BRob and go back to your McCain campaign. It doesn't matter who wins this one, your party is going down in flames.

  • Her comment isn't about which candidate she likes better, it's about the smear/attack tactics the Clinton campaign has used on another member of her Party. Pelosi is worried about the Party and about maintaining/expanding the majorities in Congress. The Clinton campaign's "Kitchen Sink" strategy on a fellow democrat demonstrates they could care less how the Party fares, as long as they get in the White House.

This has been another negative quality of Senator Clinton and why her leadership could severly compromise the Democratic Congress in 2010, similar to the way President Clinton did in 1994.
