they have made themselves as irrelevant to the money influence now, as they made themselves opinion-irrelevant in the last two or so years.
Opinion-irrelevant? I guess that's why they are hosting Netroots Nation down in Austin with speakers like Wesley Clark, Donna Edwards, Richard Clarke, Howard Dean, Paul Krugman, George Lakoff, Don Siegelman, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Sounds like they are quite relevant to some of the biggest power players in the Democratic Party.
True, Markos was a little silly in talking about withholding his donation, but a lot of diarists on that site also called him out on it. He also didn't tell anyone else what to do, only what he himself was doing. Kossacks are not lemmings, but generally thoughtful and pragmatic, and that is one reason why their influence continues to expand.

GOP: "Huh? Wait a minute, we thought Obama was supposed to mumble something wishy washy and then try to change the subject. Bringing up 9/11 is supposed to make us look tough and put him on the defensive, not the other way around! He isn't playing by the rules! Waa!"

The Obama campaign has a project to combat those smears: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fightthesmearshome/
Anyone can participate in smashing down all the lies that the wingnuts will throw out. If you want to help, the tools are there...

Hm...you're right! And what about the obvious reference of the "tractor-trailer truck". We all know what THAT means, don't we?! I mean, he could have used steamroller, VW minibus, or even a Hummer. The use of tractor-trailer truck in this case is indicative of a radical bias and perhaps even a serious mental illness. Thank you for bringing this important issue to our attention. Your service to truth and fairness is, as always, unwavering.

I agree that Obama has a tactical advantage here...no doubt the MSM wants the three traditional debates and Obama is offering it to them while McCain is stonewalling. Even if we agree that town halls are better for McCain (and I'm not at all sure that's true), they don't make as dramatic an impact on TV. If anyone pressures McCain to give in on this one, it will be the networks.

I wanted to apologize up front for calling you a troll...I don't know that that's true. Your perspective might be sincerely skewed. :)

Constantinople, his real name is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. and his initials are BHO (or BO). I don't care for the initials because they just aren't very aesthetic to my ears, but they are not racist. John Stewart has the right idea...get the name out there so that we own it and diffuse it. Hussein simply means "handsome", not "scary Arab dictator terrorist". To pounce on anyone who uses it is to give it power.

morriganinoregon, I realize that you are a troll, but I feel compelled to say that Obama has always "made nice" with Hillary...as you say, he is a class act. The problem is the other way. I suspect that many Hillary supporters will find it difficult to watch her "make nice" with Obama, now that he is the leader of the party. However, the dust will settle and by November will mostly back Obama vs. McSame. In all, it will work out just fine.
