Josh, please pull TD's post off your font page. On the front page of TPM, JMM posted TD's post. I find TD's post disingenuous at bestI got really emotional about it before I realized that I would vote...more »

• Peter Norvig (a leading AI researcher)wrote an essay 4 years ago that should have put the flip-flop as liability narrative to rest. Adaptive capacity is a virtue required of a president. Bush's resolve when faced with new facts has made him ill suited for the Job. As Norvig wrote, "If these two candidates were applying for the job of president, Bush would not get past the initial phone screen".

• I'm from Michigan, and I'm in favor of NOT seating any of our delegates. I generally like Levin, but he has flubbed this one big time.

Scenario 1: Coverage at the convention shows the MI and FL delegations seated with the story of the undemocratic method that put them there. The supers like Levin get their votes counted. We peons don't get our votes counted. The status quo wins.

Scenario 2: Coverage at the convention shows a bunch of empty seats. Levin is in the broadcast booth complaining about IA and NH having a distorted impact on the nomination. The narrative of democracy moves the story along. Levin becomes the champion of a more democratic method of choosing the nominee. Democracy if not winning, doesn't loose.

Yeah, I'm still pissed that Dean was not the nominee in 04. Remember Iowa gave us that wanker Kerry.

• Try googling

"stupidest fucking planet"

In 2001 it was "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists". In 2008, you're either with us or you're with the assholes. So we now have the GWOAH instead of the GWOT, didn't we kind of know that all along.

We have war criminals even by their own standard. We need a forum to hold the policy makers accountable. Not just the Lindsay Englands of this war.

• I voted for Mitt (per Kos's endorsement). Hillary supporters had a candidate, so they voted Democratic. Non-Hillary supporters didn't so they voted Republican. Those of us who voted Republican should not be allowed a Democratic ballot. How do we have a fair election?

Posted at March 26, 2008 8:27 PM in response to Hillary Campaign Calls For Party-Run Primary In Michigan

• Michigan's economy is arguably the worst in the country. The state cannot pay for another contest.

The party needs to look at the intangibles that it will reap from new contests in Michigan and Florida.
• Candidates at the top of the news cycle for an additional week.
• Millions on engaged voters in Michigan and Florida.
• An image of a party free of corruption.
• Less controversy at the convention.

Yes the party should pay for the new contests. As stated above, Michigan doesn't have the money. This is an opportunity for the party to spend soft money to bolster the eventual nominee. If voters bond with a candidate in the primary/caucus, that hopefully will carry over into the general election.
