The only question now is which will go lower, the DOW or McCain. And in either case it's thanks to Republican philosophies (Economic and Political).

I'll be perfectly happy if nothing passes - I'm screwed anyway it turns out, so why save the rich, who are so tight fisted, nothing ever trickles down - let the pain trickle up.

Of course it needs to be in the "Media," that is the only source most people get their info from.
And of course what Obama should do is CHANGE the way he campaigns. He needs to do it several more times, because that is the only way to get the media to CHANGE their coverage. That's why McCain ended up with Palin - she completely changed the tenor of the campaign and that was a story. Then the repeated lies became the story, but that would have died off if Obama hadn't started attacking ON the lies - now that's the story - and I think the Palin interview is the next evolution in the Palin story - a negative turn for her - but what will be next? - this has to be plotted out like a Shakespearean Drama - with enough wiggle room to allow for adaptations along the way.
I would love to see the Obama script right now, but that ruin the drama.

Your comment makes me wonder if the reason Gibson was so calm and soft and non-confrontational was precisely because he understands that if she had appeared to have had to defend her self from the "evil media" by talking tough it would render her actual answers meaningless. This way, her answers are on the record and can be slowly dissected over the next two months.
I still can't believe they LIED about the teleprompter malfunction at the convention. It's all theater with Rove and this interview took away that stage -- at least for this set of answers.

I think you need to go one step further and say WHY he is lying - which of course is because he wants to be President. John McCain will say and do and promise ANYTHING in order win this election. Why did a man who was tortured vote to allow torture? Why did a man who served in the military vote to against services for the military? Why did he vote against Bush's Taxes Cuts but now supports them? Because these are the things he needs to do in order to win the election. That's all. Everything he does now is to distract the voters from the truth, his flip-flops, the issues, the personalities, the philosophies, even our sense of the state of things. It's all lies and distractions. And must get more and more severe everyday in order to keep the publics interest. Will it implode in time? We shall see.
Obama should stick to the substance - but maybe find a more entertaining way of getting it out there. Bill Clinton could probably help.

Given that these are all distractions - I'd say that Obama and the Democrats aren't distracted. I just hope their secret project that isn't getting any coverage is some kind of bomb the blows up all the lies and distractions....
