Intentional Misspeaking?
This is just a theory, and possibly not a very interesting one, so indulge me for a moment. If you haven't heard, the right is all in a tizzy about Obama speaking about his great-uncle liberating Auschwitz, when in fact it...more »

I hate that I think about Clinton this way...
...but I do. I'm watching Countdown last night, and I see the segemnt where they chide Obama's campaign a little bit about the Politico interview where Axelrod (or "a key staffer") went with the "she'll do anything to win" theme....more »

Obama should push hard for re-votes
This might be outside theconventional wisdom, but Obama should push as hard as he can for re-votes in MI and FL. I've come around 180 degrees on this. Previously I thought that having revotes would be changing the rules...more »

minor quibble...though the OH 2nd is a tough district for Democrats in general, the massively unpopular Jean Schmidt won her election by only about 2900 votes (out of more than 225,00 cast). This seat is completely in play, and is actually a fairly likely pickup.

you've got to admit...that's a lot more entertaining an image than some a-hole trying to make a buck off of the inherent racism of certain people.

I just went back and listened to the song again. One more quote:
...and don't be surprised if Ali's in the White House...Reverend Ike, Secretary of the Treasurer...Richard Pryor, Minister of Education...Stevie Wonder, Secretary of Fine Arts...and Miss Aretha Franklin, First Lady.
So then Muhammed Ali would have to marry Aretha Franklin, I think is my point. No, actually my point is how much I love P-Funk, though it's weird to listen to it in the middle of the day at work.

OK, this is interesting. I thought about something like this happening just this morning. The context makes it a little different. With my iPod on "Shuffle" or whatever it's called, I got the song "Chocolate City" from P-Funk (those under 35...look them up on iTunes under Parliament Funkadelic). The first line...
What's happening, C.C.? You know, they still call it the White House, but that's a temporary condition
So in a weird way, I'm willing to give them a pass on this one, if there's any chance that they were channeling George Clinton (again to those under 35...not the ex-president's brother, that's Roger Clin...never mind)

I'm scared, because I predicted this position a while ago (meaning that they'd try to hijack the "uncommitted" as well).
Does that mean I'm evil too?

Possible. Though the campaign has been too smart, too organized, and too on message that someone wouldn't have at least Googled it.
For the record, my family story is that my grandmother was the first woman postmaster in Ohio. Or maybe it was "one of the first" or maybe it was "Southern Ohio." So I get it.

Admittedly a stretch. But it answered the question for me "what the hell could she possibly be thinking?"

This is a good start. From my meager experience, Ohio may be out of reach for Obama unless there's a massive snowstorm centered over Cincinnati on Election Day.
They still think he's a Muslim there. And they loooooooooove John McCain. The only way they stop loving him (and this is referencing the small subset of people I still know there, having grown up in SW Ohio) is if he keeps up that "My friends..." crap. That actually might get on their nerves because it sounds so disingenuous. And if he gets on their nerves enough, maybe they stay home. Again, that, or a blizzard.
Excellent post.
