  • 39.8 million watched last night. 19.2M were women. 17.9M were men. What were the other 1.8M?

Also I would bet there were more Dems that watched all three speeches.

  • Wordie - "I wonder what she thinks about a gas tax holiday".

She enacted just such a holiday on Aug 25 that suspended an eight cent tax. Since then the average price in Anchorage went from 4.37 then to 4.30 now. A year ago it was only 10 cents over the national average. Hmmm.

  • Here's the question that should be asked (but won't). If we resume off-shore drilling should it be used to lower gas prices for drivers, or to pay citizens of the states nearest the rigs, like they do in Alaska?

  • How many more years will Abramoff have to be in prison before he forgets how many homes he owns? Every time I hear McCain mention his prison time, I think of Abramoff, Ney and a whole lot more Republicans that deserve the experience. None, however, will come out more qualified to be president.

  • No self-respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her.

So she's going to vote Republican? Well, she'll be a hero there, I suppose.

  • Hillary's numbers apparently do include the zero for Michigan for Obama. It also ignors the four caucus states that didn't do popular vote counts (IA, NV, WA and ME)

Posted at May 14, 2008 10:50 AM in response to The Latest Popular Vote Counts

  • The poll about popular vote versus pledged delegates shows that most participants don't understand the process. Four states simply do not have popular votes to report (WA, IA, NV and ME). Furthermore, much as Clinton likes to claim that those who didn't vote in caucus states would have voted for her, the absurdity of counting Utah as three times the weight of Maine is breathtaking.

  • "You can't help but be shaped by your experience"-GS

Apparently Charlie Gibson wasn't shaped by any journalistic experience. But then maybe he's just a script reader. I'm not really an insider. I just think they might find moderators with a different set of priorities.

  • If a candidate raises 237 million dollars, how much influence can you buy for 2.26 million. 1) Did the 38 bundlers have a common cause? 2) What would we learn if someone reported that he received more money from people with foot fetishes?
