But Frances T. Farenthold, 81, a prominent national Democrat who is known as Sissy and served from 1969 to 1973 as the only woman in the Texas House of Representatives, said she could not forgive Mrs. Clinton’s vote for the...more »

  • Exactly. I'm anti-dumb-war. Hillary was for it. Joe supports Hillary. I don't respect Wilson's opinion at all.

  • The roadblock won't be Hillary so much. It will be good ole Bill.

And I can't see actually wanting Hillary a heartbeat away from the Presidency anyway. But it's still up to Obama and he doesn't need to make any sort of decision now.

  • Also to consider: Election in LA where Obama was used in the negative GOP ads. The Dem won.

I don't see anything wrong with Hillary using this argument to gain superdelegates. Because Missouri faces challenges with our rural areas in statewide elections, I am sympathetic to the Clinton argument. The rural areas have placed a chokehold on the Democratic Party for some time.

I think it's time to form the new coaltion as Obama has shown he can do--energized voters so our turnout is higher; new voters and those who just flat don't register or vote at all; and a lot of damned hard work by all Democrats.

Hillary is appealing to newly elected politicians in an effective way--you might not be re-elected. The vast majority of folks want their "jobs" to continue--politicians are not exempt from this.

  • Since I lived through the activism against the Vietnam War, I found your conclusion that the working class was against the war interesting. It runs completely counter to my experience.

The working class--including those drafted who served in Vietnam--was strongly for the war. The war ended when this group turned against the war.

The anti-Vietnam rabble-rousers were certainly cenetered on college and university campuses--not the normal hang-out for the working class.

Obama's rise to power is simply supported by the same middle class, college-educated types who form at the bleeding edge of anything--including a generational change of power within the Democratic Party.

  • Is it simply too much to ask our highly paid Congress folk who are on the Armed Services Committees to take a small bit of our tax dollars and actually GO OUT AND INVESTIGATE ON THEIR OWN? Is this what we've descended to? Our oversight folks depending on youtube and a soldier's video in order to pinpoint problems? Any of these elected idiots ever heard of surprise inspections? Are they incapable to planning a surprise?

  • Skelton represents a rural Congressional district in Missouri; he certainly does not represent the entire state. And I'm in Missouri and represent a bit of a different picture than Greg DL is presenting here.

This should confuse no one--Hillary's support is in the very dying rural and small town areas that Ike represents. And those are the areas Hillary won in the Missouri primary--the ones that are dying.

Ike won't ever give up his house seat; he's conservative enough to win a rural/small town district. But representative of Missouri? I don't think so.

  • Disagree with you. Check out Moyers' interview with Wright where Wright says he answers things as a pastor while Obama answers things as a politician. I found this completely offensive and I will proceed to tell you exactly why.

Wright apparently believes that he (Wright) is infallible and is truly hearing only God's voice and not the echo of his own ego. There was very little humility in these statements.

I am not surprised that Obama found these statements offensive. It is now time to say bye-bye to Reverend Wright.
