  • Now, I can also tell you that people who are very passionate about music might seriously take issue with my use of the word "bias" here, just like you did with science.

You insist on missing the point. Even worse, you want to justify your poor analogy -- and dismiss my objection -- because of my 'passion' for science. It may be a clever debate tactic, but it's a poor way of elucidating the truth.

The fact is your analogy is poor -- on an absolute scale. You can continue dig in and to be dismissive of my comment by ascribing it to subjective emotional motives on my end, but, in truth, it does mean you have demonstrated little knowledge of scientific thought, process, and methods.

  • Coal is filthy. Coal is deadly. Mining coal is destructive.

All true. You know what else is true?

You are rapidly running out of choices. No POTUS from either party will be able to spin oil from straw. The oil is running out. At present, no renewables are available to support our current lifestyle and standard of living.

I suggest you come up with a scientific, engineering, and practical substitute.

I suggest you start reading here:

I can't wait for a true discussion on energy for at long last people will not see this is a left vs right issue. This is not a Dem or GOP issue. It is an American issue.

  • How would you expect them to act on that belief?

The same way that Dodd, Edwards, Paul, Romney, Biden, Huckabee, etc. etc. supporters have this year.

  • Fighting for the sake of fighting is senseless. That is what Hillary is doing at present.

I don't think so. Classical grief analysis is that she is the "bargaining" stage at present.

The Clintons know that 2008 is their only chance to get back to the White House now, not 2012, note 2016. They are going to throw everything at this issue, because once they admit it's over, it's over for good and for ever.

  • Otto,

Just curious: assuming it's Obama vs McCain, what are you planning on doing in Nov?

    a) vote Party (e.g. Obama)
    b) send a message (e.g. write in Hillary)
    c) vote other Party (e.g. McCain)
    d) sit it out
    e) vote 3rd party
    f) write in someone besides Hillary

I think these are the only options.

  • She would start a party, if she could.

    You need a vision to start a 3rd party, a compelling call-to-arms.

What would it be for Hillary?

"Elect me, because I deserve it"?

  • Well stated.

I wish you would post a blog on the 1984 convention. It would be ancient history now (no offense) but very interesting from someone in the trenches.

  • You've missed the point. In continuing to apply vague and fuzzy analogies, you only help confuse the fundamental issues -- and don't do justice to the point I presume you are trying to make. This is akin to people who argue "isn't the theory of evolution, only a theory"?

Your analogy is confusing because the topic of bias in science (which does exist and is legitimate) does not intersect the topic of falsifying data.

  • Within her soul I don't think she can imagine a man more talented than her husband, and therefore more talented than her campaign, premise, reason for being....take your pick.

    Interesting speculation.

You put a lot of emphasis on that elusive emotion: love.
