Obama should not give a penny towards retiring Clinton's debt. Clinton knew from the time of the Wisconsin primary that she was done barring a surprise. She could have decided to stick around as a loyal democrat (like Huckabee in the R primaries) and join Barack in campaigning against Bush/McCain, but instead she chose to lie and smear in OH/TX and beyond. Now she wants Barack's small donor base to bail her out the expenses of her race-baiting campaign? Her campaign that kept going by stiffing small vendors? That owes most of its money to Penn and his fascist-supporting propagandists? NOT ONE CENT TO THE CLINTONS. Let Bill try to make it back with his 200k$ speeches to former Soviet warlords and war profiteers, or siphon it from the still undisclosed sponsors of his "foundation".

not at all. Jon Stewart has said on air that an Obama-McCain contest will be good for America. he, like many of us, probably started out happy to see Clinton run, but i suspect that he would only be pro-Hillary nowadays in the sense that the stench of hypocrisy, phoniness, and desperation from the Clinton Campaign (followed inevitably by another 4 years of Republican stupidity and incompetence) would be good for the satire business. the "Mark Penn = Jabba the Hutt" jokes would keep them on easy street for at least the next 6 months. (and now we can also look forward to McCain-Hillary duets of "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran".)

this is not a 'manufactured controversy'. this is Hillary showing she has absolutely no idea what it means to be President. Hillary's comments will alarm governments from Europe to Asia - China buys a lot of energy products from Iran; Russia and China sell lots of arms and other technology to the region. Both countries could decide to declare their own defense umbrella over their trading partner. Hillary just made the real world a more dangerous place. She needs to apologize and get off the world stage NOW.
