In America, any black African ancestry pretty much qualifies you as Black. Historically this has been actually a good thing for the African-Americans because it forced a kind of political cohesion among those varying degrees of ancestry rather the Latin-American model of fragmented gradation.
Whiteness is a very protected ethnic identity historically in this country. There is an entire subgenre of 19th Century literature dealing with those who were thought white but in fact were black.

this thing is over. the adults have decided the charade has gone on long enough. hillary can win both NC and Indiana and it won't amount to a hill of beans.
obama passed his last test. the powers that be are satisfied he isn't going to implode. they like his judgement and they know the gas tax holiday is a crock and so are discounting anything positive for hillary as result.
she failed the leadership test that would have given the SD's cover to suport her. She has failed it repeatedly and that is why no matter what happens now, the race is over.

barack nailed it. did what he had to do. showed he had a spine. show the superdels he can fight for what he wants. showed the world he's his own man.
face it, he passed the test. sorry HRCistas. It's over. The queen has been de-throned.

thanks, article man.
i had added my background info by way of showing that i really identify with what Obama is trying to do on an emotional level, an intellectual level, etc.
nevertheless, i fear that things are becoming too much for him. i am also angry that his failure to adequately address this situation has allowed it to fester. i understand he has a personal relationship with rev. wright that may even tie into his absent father, sobeit. there are too many people who he's convinced that he can win it for him to sit idly by hoping wright doesn't crater some other part of his campaign.
where is the fight in him or is he too blind to see that his mentor has in no uncertain terms left his presidential bid up to God's will? that is an abandonement if ever i heardf one and what do we get from Obama? nothing.
Wright can a press conference everyday between now and November 4 and i don't get the sense Obama would care that much.

i'm a huge Obama supporter. african-american, ivy-league educated. if barack doesn't get a handle on wright and reign him in or cut ties with him i will have lost a tremendous amount of respect for Obama.
To me, he is very close to becoming John Kerry. I am starting to see a weakness in him that I never saw before. It pains me to say it but I am losing faith in him by the minute.
He knew this would be a problem. He knew the reverends personality and he chose not to take him head on because he was afraid of the man we saw during the q&a at the press club. That is weakness.
Obama's presidency is in the balance today and I don't think he fully grasps that fact. Perceptions are being solidified. The Reverend just killed the dream.
If Obama does not significantly address the fiasco that was the Press Club appearance by this afternoon. He is finished.

yup. imagine for a second how granting the nomination to HRC plays nationally and internationally. Step back. Rub your eyes and see the end of the Democratic party because that is what it would be.
The times have changed. HRC can say whatever she wants. She has to. She lost. But the Dems have to decide if they can live without her. I think the Baracks rolodex with all those new Dems says, wait for it, . . . "Yes they can."

obama has the black vote, the youth vote, a database, delegate lead, and a charming personality.
neither clinton, nor the democratic party, would survive her getting the nomination, period.
you see how the clinton's are toast in the Black community. Do you to extend that to the entire Democratic Party?

As an African-American man, let me explain somethings to Obama's non-Black supporters:
How are you liking your brief glimpse into how things work for Black people. It's rough ain't. Constantly having to prove something that you thought was already proven. Having to put up with ridiculous argument after ridiculous argument. Never actually hearing people say what is really on their minds.
Obama is bringing us all together.
Notice how the goalposts have wheels now? What began as a race for delegates has, poof, suddenly morphed into a race to secure the white working class vote.
He wasn't supposed to get this far. He wasn't supposed to be viable. He's wasn't supposed to put us in this bind. So more whoops have to be fashioned that he has to jump through to keep the obvious from being stated, namely: A number of people will not vote for him because he's Black, period.
Does this mean he can't win. Nope. For the simple reason that no one knows how many anti-Obama votes you need.
