I sure hope for Sarah's sake that no records pop up showing that she donated to the Alaska First party. Or old VHS tapes showing her at their rallies, reciting the Alaska pledge of allegiance while eating copious amounts of moose jerky. And since she wasn't vetted, I think the likelihood of that is quite high at this point.

You stupid liberals, don't you see this plays right into Palin's hands? The fact that the Palins want to turn Alaska into a foreign country just further proves that Palin does have foreign policy chops. She has clearly thought about foreign relations between Alaska and the US.
"Secession: now that's change we can believe in." (followed by creepy lime-jello McCain laugh....)

Here's the Tapper link in case anyone hasn't seen it yet:

The quote of the day:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
That's from the web site of Palin's former party, the Alaska Independence Party.
http://www.akip.org/introduction.html
When she was asked about VP on Kudlow she said: "We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans."
Kind of puts that quote in a new light. I don't want to pee in the pool here, but isn't advocating secession, you know, treason? By definition?
Even Tapper is on this now. Her Mooseburger is about to become Eagletonburger.

Just wondering: is there some reason that TPM is completely ignoring what is going on in St. Paul re the protests and numerous arrests and detentions of not only protesters but lawyers and journalists? Seems like news, you know, related to the RNC.

Bush taught McSame how to look into people's souls. That was all the vetting needed.
By the way, I just realized while writing this that both Palin and Putin start with a "P" -- further evidence of Palin's experience in foreign affairs!

There's a guy in Wyoming somewhere who used to run a Midas Muffler shop (executive experience, etc.) who also believes that the earth is 6,000 years old and that Jesus rode around on a dinosaur, so he's gotta be high on the list.

So Palin supports abstinence-only "sex education" -- which is another way of saying that she doesn't support sex eductation, she only supports telling kids not to have sex.
How's that working out?

I think the net effect of this will be a significant rise in Hillary's stock. Ironically, McCain's selection of a woman in attempt to co-opt disaffected Hillary supporters, is going to give Hillary more power in the Obama camp going forward. Obama is going to need her more now. I don't necessarily like that, but I think that is how it will play out.
