  • Has anyone thought on how the demographic breakdown would be affected by removing the dittohead factor from the equation? If it amounts to about 5%, then the demographic breakdown for Senator Obama would be much healthier than the NC and IN primaries would indicate. Not that they were that bad for him in the first place. He definitely improved upon PA.

If only the Clintons knew the meaning of the word 'shame', she might close out the campaign in the same manner that Mike Huckabee did; remaining positive and not weakening the all but presumptive nominee of his party. Alas...

  • Liberal is not a bad word, JACKASS. Unlike HRC, who constantly gives in to repug frames like 'liberal is bad', Senator Obama turns the argument around and basically says, 'Darn right; I'm liberal like John Kennedy. I'm liberal like FDR.'

Liberal is not a bad word, troll.

  • All Obama was saying was that working class voters who don't believe that Washington will do anything to help their economic situation will vote on the basis of other issues and that it is natural for people under duress to rely upon the things that give them comfort.

He put it together in a way that lent itself to being misconstrued. It happens. He apologized for the misstatement and clarified his remarks.

    Great post, Saundra!

  • As an Obama supporter, I'd be extremely pleased if he managed to pull off the upset, but with slick Eddie Rendell and most of the PA democratic machine behind HRC, I'd have to give her a built in 5 point cushion.

  • Nah, fogu. We just happen to have salaried jobs, by and large, so taking a blow-off sick day is no big deal. It's that higher educated, voter demographic; don't ya know! ;-)

  • No mention here that he spent hours fielding every last question about Rezko in front of the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times.

Note the last paragraph: "Less protection, less control, would have meant less hassle for his campaign. That said, Barack Obama now has spoken about his ties to Tony Rezko in uncommon detail. That's a standard for candor by which other presidential candidates facing serious inquiries now can be judged."

  • Here in MA, gays and lesbians are granted protections from discrimination in the workplace, housing, etc; so equal marriage rights was a natural extension. It just pisses me off that so many of our countrymen and women can't recognize the dignity and humanity of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

  • The more recent polls show Obama performing better. I think they reflect a bounce after the Casey endorsement and fallout over Bosnia. There are a LOT of veterans in PA and quite frankly, it is an insult to suggest that they would ever allow our first lady and first daughter to fall into harm's way.
I have to say, I'm kind of happy that Billary has been attacking him. He has now proven that he can take a punch. He and supporters; myself included, will pay no attention to the polls and keep campaigning, organizing, canvassing and fundraising as if he were down 10 points. Complacency is for right wingers.
