I spend my days, and some nights, booking a rock club in Chicago, called Schubas (www.schubas.com). It's where bands such as Deathcab For Cutie, The Shins, and Dave Matthews got their Chicago start. Can't complain. On the side, I manage the band The M's (www.myspace.com/thems) and also write a monthly column for UR Chicago (www.urchicago.com), which focuses on my life as a father in the music industry. Oh and if my writing about myself on TPM isn't proof enough, I am a political junkie.

  • Oh and look! TPM got it up on their poll graphic lickity split. No bias there. Where are the other PA polls released today?

Posted at April 8, 2008 12:53 PM in response to SurveyUSA: Hillary Ahead By 18 Points In Pennsylvania Primary

  • I call outlier, unless the people of PA are just stubborn and are not affected by someone's main campaign strategist being a boob and the candidate kind of getting caught in more truth stretching about health care and even more so about her criticism of the Iraq war.

Posted at April 8, 2008 12:49 PM in response to SurveyUSA: Hillary Ahead By 18 Points In Pennsylvania Primary

  • This may already be in the comments above, but here is what HRC had to say during the BS Canadian NAFTA brew ha ha:
"I would ask you to look at this story and substitute my name for Sen. Obama’s name and see what you would do with this story… Just ask yourself [what you would do] if some of my advisers had been having private meetings with foreign governments."
Well, Hillary, you should thank Mr. Penn for giving voters and the media the opportunity to do so. Now, Mr. Penn is a PAID adviser, where Austin Goolsbee is not. More than a paid advider, Penn is the architect of your rather pathetic campaign. He should have been fired long ago, so what's the delay now?

Posted at April 4, 2008 4:03 PM in response to Penn: "I Am Sorry" For Meeting With Colombian Ambassador

  • Exactly.
The only plan the Clinton team had in place post-Super Tuesday was to place a crown on her head, thus not letting people vote for almost five months straight.
Man I can't wait till this crap is over. Such a pathetic candidate.

Posted at April 1, 2008 12:44 PM in response to Hillary Telling Local Media In Future Voting States That Obama Wants Race To End

  • Here here.
I've already been told that my attitude will just result in another four years of Republican rule, and I ask what the hell is the difference between that and a Hillary Clinton administration? Sure she'll throw a bone to the occasional good cause, but then she'll pull some shit like her husband did. NAFTA, Don't Ask Don't Tell, welfare "reform", Rwanda ignorance, all the while worrying about her DLC corporate cronies over the voting bloc she is currently lying to.
Wonder why she doesn't want to release her tax returns? Maybe because her supporters might figure out someone worth $50 million plus might not be up at 3:00 AM worrying about their family's problems, rather some corporations bottom line.
I'm sick just thinking about it.

Posted at March 7, 2008 6:23 PM in response to Hillary Clinton Just Lost My Vote

  • Never said anything about kicking her out of the race. Just said she shouldn't run for the Democratic nomination. Seems like she is now running as a Lieberman independent (re: McCain's running mate), if she wants to go that route, she shouldn't take the party with her.

  • Which one of these candidates is going to investigate why stock footage of sleeping children is readily available?
I mean who, other than these two campaigns apparently, needs stock footage of sleeping children?

Posted at February 29, 2008 5:41 PM in response to Obama Response Ad: "In A Dangerous World, It's Judgment That Matters"

  • Eric, how exactly is this an argument against Obama's national security credentials? Is he not going to answer the phone at 3:00 AM and if he does, will he have to open his address book to figure out who he is speaking with? No. What this ad is, is the desperate attempt of a dying campaign to scare people to its side.

    Some quick observations:

    1. You will not see Obama standing in front of a mic screaming that HRC is using Rovian tactics. He'll be calm and explain why he thinks these kind of ads are bad for the American people, who will once again see a leader who will handle problems appropriately.

    2. This, along with the Clinton's possible TX lawsuit, will be their story of the day. Fear and threats will define their last weekend before their potential last primaries. Obama's story will be his raising $50+ million dollars in 29 days, thus wiping out the little good news HRC has had for some time.

    3. I suspect Obama will get a nice jump on March fundraising after his camp sends out word that Clinton is trying to scare and sue it's way to victory.

    4. Keith Olbermann is gonna come down hard on Clinton. Can't wait to see it.

I have been under the impression that the areas that are way up were considered safe territory for Obama, but if the early vote is going to Hillary, then maybe those areas are not so safe?
