  • Another swiftboat alert.
On the View, they were saying that the prayer that was stolen in Israel was leaked by the campaign in a PR stunt. Except, this has been completely debunked, the New Republic originally wrote about the accusation and then debunked it the next day when they did further investigating . Damn liberal media.

  • Did anyone read that article in NY Magazine ("McCain's Hillary problem") where they quoted a McCain staffer saying "Hillary received the worst coverage since Nixon, and now it's happening to us." !!!
Yeah, Chuck Todd sure is sucking lately. First it was "That's why people love McCain" re: his Iran joke. Today he was saying that Obama and Bush have the same personality and loyalty issues...ok, isn't MSNBC trying to say all of the time that Obama does NOT value loyalty, like he "throws people under the bus" all of the time? When McCain tried to distance himself from Gramm, Todd said "What do you think about McCain tossing Gramm under the bus, Obama style?" There is a difference between valuing loyalty in your campaign, and valuing loyalty in your campaign over competence. Make up your damn minds, fools. Yeah, even Dee Dee Myers agreed with Joe Scarborough that Obama gets more favorable coverage in the general election over McCain(at first I thought she was just agreeing MORE coverage, but Joe asked a second question about favorable coverage to be sure. Disappointing).

  • It would be nice if TPM at least did not parrot the RNC's version of Clark's "attack on McCain". I watched Face the Nation yesterday, and Clark clearly said that while he respected McCain's military experience and the fact that he has served as a hero to himself as well as millions of others, military service does not automatically equal national security credentials. Schieffer was the one who said "But Barack Obama did not ride in a fighter and get show down", to which Clark replied that he didn't think riding in a fighter and getting shot down were qualifications for the presidency, and that Obama is running on judgement instead of experience, and argued that Obama's judgement on national security has been better than McCain. McCain was the first one who went there and implied that since Obama did not serve in the military, he couldn't attack McCain's policies on veteran benefits or really just national security in general. It shouldn't make him immune to criticism if he is arueing that his military service = foreign policy credentials. Instead of replying that his senate experience gave him foreign policy credentials, the RNC intentionally distorted Clark's comments, now parroted by the MSM and TPM.

  • George didn't let her off all that easy with NAFTA. He brought up the Indiana plant that she blamed the closing of on George Bush, even though it was closed during Clinton's administration. George said that the Clintons often talk about the economic success of the administration, but a large part of that is due to globalization. He said "You can't have it both ways. How can you take credit for all of the good of Nafta, but not the bad of NAFTA?" She also was really evasive when asked about the Clinton library donors, and said the names would be "released when she's president."
