How about calling them "hardworking" districts.

Hillary is relevant until she's officially no longer campaigning. Just because she can't win the nomination (short of Obama dropping dead ... or worse), doesn't mean she can't stir the pot more. And she will. Her campaign may have a mortal wound, but it's still holding several loaded guns. Treating her as irrelevant is risky.Posted at May 8, 2008 10:05 PM in response to What the hell is wrong with you people?

"Honestly, with all the sore winners around here I think they've projected every frustration from their entire lives onto Hillary."I think you're on to something Otto.
BTW, I've been lurking over at Taylor Marsh dot com and Hillaryis44 and have concluded the same about them. Both sides have heaped all their frustrations, despair, fears, and hatred on the hump of the great white whale ... err, I mean the other side's campaign. It's not exactly pretty.
FWIW, I think a little bit of reserve in celebrating by the Obama forces is called for at this point. There is still some potential damage the Clinton campaign is broadcasting that they may still do. Or not. Nobody really knows for sure. All I know is their campaign is starting to act like a crazy person. And crazy people can be scary.

If the situation were reversed with Hillary ahead in pledged delegates and Obama (or Edwards or Richards or anybody) trying to get MI admitted when HER name wasn't on the ballot, she'd be fighting it tooth and nail. The fact that the Obama camp is willing to give her a ten delegate spread on this is magnanimous. But all her talk of letting the voters voices be heard, etc, is just plainly evident self-service. It's as obvious as can be.
If Obama loses this year (a possibility that can't be dismissed), she'll run in 2012 for sure. The only thing that could stop her would be if she drops dead. But after this week's remarks about "white voters" being the party's true base and after her obvious self serving ethics on the FL and (especially) MI issues, I have to think she'll enter the 2012 primaries almost mortally wounded from the very start.

I think when you're worth >$100,000,000 you sort of forfeit the right to call much poorer folk "elitist." High net worth isn't the only thing that defines elitism, perhaps. But who's kidding anybody about knowing how poor people live? Also, I don't think you can simultaneously claim to be an Arkansan, New Yorker and midwesterner. When the Puerto Rico primary comes up will she find a way to call herself Puerto Rican?

I started reading this expecting some insight into Hillary's deep appeal, perhaps even some understanding of why Hillary supporters will turn away from Barack once he is nominated. I want to understand that phenomenon, you see, because I think it may well be Obama's greatest challenge this entire election year.
However, I was surprised to find out how much melancholy is in the author's affection for Hillary. It makes me a little bit sad, and not for the reasons I expected.
Thanks for sharing this.

It appears that some Hillary voters who see Obama getting the nomination as evidence of sexism. I don't agree with that, but I "get" it. They view Hillary as more qualified and, therefore, if a man gets the nomination, it must be because he's a man, not because he has more appeal to the voters on the issues or is a better speaker, or other factors. What I don't get is how some Hillary supporters indicate that they will demonstrate their objection to this presumed sexism by .... get this .... voting for John McCain. Oh yeah! The logic seems to be that voting for the old white male will somehow be more feminist than voting for the middle aged black/mixed-race male. If anybody can explain this logic to me, I'd appreciate it quite a bit.

Make that "sort of fired Penn." It doesn't read like a firing announcement. It just reads like a minor reassignment of duties.I really question what on earth Hillary sees in this guy. She must really like him!

Apparently losing is the new winning. And silver is the new gold.

Election night in PA will be interesting because I think even if Hillary wins PA by a single primary vote she'll give the typical "comeback kid .... there's no stopping us now!" type speech. But she is not an idiot. Not by half. I've never doubted her intelligence. If she wins PA by anything less than ten points and the NC poll numbers still look bad for her then I suspect her campaign will be looking for an excuse to suspend the campaign with minimal embarrassment. She gains nothing from continuing to get spanked after PA.
