  • Either this is ironic, in which case it's sad. Or, it's a honest opinion, in which case it is...well, sad too.

  • Curiously enough, I have heard very very little from actual FL/MI voters. I have heard an unending din from the Clinton camp (unsurprisingly), and quite a lot from career politicians. Voters, on the other hand, have been very quiet as far as I have seen.

It is quite possible that there are droves of voters feeling left out because their vote would not count (even they knew that when they voted). However, I think it's far more likely that the Clinton campaign are riding the backs of the ordinary voter in order to attain the nomination.

I challenge any Clinton supporter here to deny that Hillary Clinton *agreed* to NOT seat FL/MI before the election. I challenge any Clinton supporter here to deny that McAuliffe himself (as mentioned in his book "What a Party!") enforced the "no-seat" rule for MI in 2004.

If you are going to argue for your cause, it helps using arguments that have logical foundations. "Because I want it" does not cut the mustard.

  • I have not done the math here, but I do believe that FOX is the *main* infopipeline to the collective republican mind. In my view, the move was strategically brilliant -- in one fell swoop silencing the Wright issue, the debate criticisms, the FOX taunts, the "liberal extremist" view, the "empty suit" nonsense, while denying Hillary any favors.

  • I am very disappointed in parts of the liberal side now, since all you can see is that he was not tough enough on FOX. Can you not see what a brilliant tactical move this was and how well he handled himself in a really hostile environment? FOX may be assholes, but they are the best pipeline to republican minds there is. Is was pure genius. Talking trash back to FOX would have given them talking points; he denied them that.

  • Matt, quick word of advice:

Please let your friends know that using caps is very revealing. It shows that you are trying to sensationalize. Now, not all people know this, but people who scream for attention in that way are largely tuned out of the collective mind. They become self-inflicdedly irrelevant - just another fanatic.

I have nothing against a serious discussion with conservatives, but stick with reasoned logic, not OMG WRIGHT IS A BAD PERSON!!!! Try to build an argument that is founded on something, and do it without the screams.

  • The McClatchy article says it quite directly:

" it's not really about the flag pin, she said in a telephone interview Thursday"

In Clinton, she sees someone who has struggled for years, just like her, and has earned the right to be president. In Obama, she sees someone who rose like a rocket, always has a smooth explanation for everything — whether it's about his former preacher or the flag pin — and who makes it all look too easy.

"That's what upsets me about Barack Obama," she says. "He takes everything so nonchalantly."

So, nope, it's not about patriotism at all. It's about something as common as envy - but the kind of envy that stems from always being at the wrong end of a raw deal.

  • Hey Mediaplayer, catch up with the Drudge and ABC polls. Your lady lost rather spectacularly, at least with the online voters.

  • At the time of writing some 16000 people over at the ABC poll disagrees with those who say that Hillary won the debate. They have Obama clobbering Clinton 3/1
