I don't know why they "brought him back" in the first place as it just brings the quotes back to the forefront again. I wonder if he was connected to the Liechtenstein banking scandal.
Maybe the scapegoated him to make it the story rather than McCain disclosing Obama's Iraq travel plans.

Well as far as I can tell this is getting zero MSM play. Of course they have a ready excuse saying that covering McCain's ridiculous leak would only further draw attention to Sen. Obama's travel plans.

The candidate losing the election always has to go negative. Sen. Clinton did the same thing in the Dem Primary as have basically every candidate running in second place.
Obama can't hit back hard because he is supposed to be "new politics" and above it all. There is nothing the McCain Camp would love more than to get into a mudslinging battle with Obama. It's like that old saying goes - Don't argue with an idiot because they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
Obama just needs to stop allowing McCain and Co from re framing the Iraq issue. It's not about the surge working or not it's about not being there in the first place. Did the surge bring back the 4000+ young Americans killed, did it heal the tens of thousands of American soldiers injured (to varying degrees), or bring back to life the the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi's or heal the hundreds of thousands injured Iraqi citizens or refund the trillions of dollars spent on the war that could have went to much better use at home. That is the only way the surge could work for a war that should have never been fought.

it's interesting that McCain and Co waited to unleash this while Obama is out of the country. Also first signs that the Rove disciples have taken over.

I swear I just read a yahoo article where McCain gave away the date when Obama was heading to Iraq, and was going to blog on it and how reckless it was and put Obama in danger however when I went back to link the story it was no longer to be found - I assume Yahoo! realized the security implications and pulled it.
