I would ask that the chair admonish the witnesses to air on the side of being responsive as opposed to constantly quibbling over word choice because I've never seen it to the degree I've seen it today.
This is the equivalent of classic deposition weaseling by the witnesses, with the added incentive here of, as Davis notes, running the clock. When you say what time is it, what do you mean by "time"?
Bad faith, is what it is. (I know, shocking.)

"It seems that Senator Obama is ruling out capital punishment."
Hey, kids! See if you can find the weasel word in this sentence.
Any time you hear this word used in politics, watch your wallet.

The problem, however, is that it doesn't look like this is the case. And that's the rub, since any perception that Hillary is trying to force Obama's hand through whatever channels only makes the possibility that he'll offer the slot to her more remote.
So -- sorry if I'm slow here -- what's the problem?
One of the most satisfying aspects of Barack Obama's victory Tuesday is that Lanny Davis will eventually drop from the spotlight.
I look forward, enthusiastically, to that moment.
Sing it, CT kitty.
