  • Hey Dijamo! Thank you for the post, as they are words to my heart. I so wanted to believe in Barack, but I too was getting bogged down by so many examples of his ingenuineness, most particularly the one you cite. Yes, he has sat idle by with his wife and daughters, and thus condoned (of not also agreed with) the reprehensible comments being frequently made by Reverend Wright. What made him so comfortable there, that he could attend the church for 20 years?

  • Oh, if only this nomination process lasted longer. People are beginning to catch MR. Golden Boy Barack Obama in too many inconsistencies, too many faux pas and ingenuineness. Kentucky sees right through that stuff; they know a fast-talking hippocrit when they see one. He says, let's put race aside and just talk about the issues, while his campaign staff cries wolf over every possible racial insensitivity, and then it is no surprise that he has felt most at home for many years in a church that preaches gospel against the government and hatred toward "Rich White People," and now they take a closer look at his true record in the Senate.

    Go Hillary go!

  • What makes her a moron? That she is speaking her mind straight from her heart, calling it as she feels she sees it? That she is saying only what a great many people already think but are afraid of speaking aloud, lest they become labeled as racists. Or, how about her reactions to the Obama attacks? Do you not see that she as well as Hillary are being attacked for anything that comes out of her mouth? It is behavior like this, i.e. race-bating, that has only now begun dividing the candidates along racial lines.

Oh, excuse me! Why am I even responding to you. Anyone who writes what you just wrote must certainly be a moron.

  • This is a sad moment for democrats and for democrasy. Ferraro has long been one of the purest minded democrats our country has ever known and has spent her entire career battling racism, sexism, and other forms of bigotry. What she said, in effect, was what a lot of people already believe--it is the elephant in the room. This is partly why the press has coddled Obama, lest they ever be accused of being racially insensitive. The Obama campaign staff will not waste a second to spin the race card into any comment being made, meanwhile claiming they are trying their darndest to issues of race out of the campaign. The voters are starting to see that and are now dividing along the racial lines. It's probably too little, too late for Hillary, but unfortunately this buyer's remorse and cynicism will benefit McCain later on, with or without Hillary on the ticket as VP candidate.

  • What makes more sense is that both Clinton and Edwards have long been advocates for the poor and the poverty-stricken. Moreover, Clinton's universal health care plan is near identical to Edwards (who will say as much). I don't see why he hasn't been more supportive of Hillary, aside from her rather harmless ties to lobbyists.

  • I'll take that bet. If anything, I bet that Obama has promised the VP slot to Edwards.

  • Great posting! On the money, yes. Yes! Oh when oh when will the media start holding him accountable. Nowadays, you need to subscribe to Factcheck.org or go straight to Hillary's website for her factcheck section to see how many of Obama's plans copied hers only 3 months later. He sees which plans look good and on the fly he pirates them. That's the kind of candidate he is, someone who will suddenly promise this and that, such as granting licenses to illegal aliens, just to win that week's primaries. That's justr bad politics; he himself doesn't have any thought out plans.

  • I have been saying this for a long time, Obama's authenticity is highly questionable. It is a big of an ugly irony that while Obama attests that his campaign is not just about lofty rhetoric, he is yet using the same lofty rhetoric from another politician. Barack does not write his own speeches, he performs them. He performs the speeches quite well, well enough to pack in the crowds, but he does not write anything he says. Usually, his main speech writer (who is incidientally is the young 26 year old white man Jon Favreau) often lifts various passages the straight out of the speeches spoken during the 60's civil rights era. If that is all Obama has going for him, just a performance, hwo can we truly expect him to bring about change?
