Yeah, I'd be mad if my pledged delegate swapped on his own initiative. That makes the whole voting thing seem pointless...except that most of the voting from here on out is pointless anyway.
Still, I was secretly hoping Hillary's plea to the pledged delegates to go against the voters and vote their conscience would bite her in the ass. Now it has. Oh, well.
She started this particular ball rolling herself.

The problem is, I don't think she supports me as a woman. I have an advanced degree but chose to stay home with my kids for 10 years before going back to work. To her, that's "baking cookies and having teas," right?
I try not to be snarky on here, but this comment of hers hit close to home. And now she's representing all women? Not me. She's not what I aspire to, and I don't think I am the kind of woman she'd have anything to do with in the real world.
I agree more with Obama's values than hers. I think a lot of women who look past the basic fact that Hillary is a female find that they have more in common with Barack Obama.

gotalife,
fighting hard for your candidate is admirable. My dad is a huge HRC supporter and we talk frequently, so I respect how difficult it is to watch your candidate loose a very close and exciting race. From my point of view, I hope that if and when you feel like you could change your mind about Barack Obama...or at least re-examine his candidacy, please come back. Use your energy against McCain.
It is good to have a balance of opinions here.

Good point!
But let's kick McCain's ass, not "republican ass." Or maybe "Bush Republican" ass.
Remember, many republicans might want to join Obama's movement for change, and I would like them to feel welcome. But yes. As I sip my coffee (drip, unfortunately) and admire my Prius (50 miles per gallon, baby!) I am inspired by your post to see how I can get engaged beyond my one-click donating habit. :O)
I love those ads, amber! That could take up my whole morning...

Thank you for this eloquent and generous post.
I hope after time, you can be as excited about Barack Obama as I am...or as excited as you were about Hillary.
I have never felt this good about a political candidate in my life. I hope many more people will share this same feeling of optimism and elation in the months to come.

I think you'll find, in retrospect, that he knows exactly what he is doing.
It's like chess. Someone else made the analogy, and I find it brilliant. Not a game for those in a hurry, or who want constant excitement and showiness...but a thoughtful game that takes keen intelligence, patience and a gentleman's sense of fair play.

Thanks for this heads-up.

I would have stayed. I wanted to go to both rallies in my home state, but couldn't make it work. I never considered voting for Clinton, but I would have been interested to hear her speak.
