  • Neither candidate offers anything close to a "true universal healthcare" plan, because neither plan purports to set up a government-sponsored, single-payer system. Hillary's plan seems analogous to auto insurance mandates. With that said, nothing is more frightening than McCain's proposed healthcare plan. Under his plan, if you have any sort of pre-existing condition, forget health insurance...even John McCain himself would be ineligible for coverage under his own plan! (Lucky for him, he is covered by the government.)

  • Yes, and democratic voters can switch to Maverick McCain, whenever we like. McCain is the most Democrat-like Republican to hold the ticket (sans this past primary campaign) for years. It's easier this year than ever for Democrats to vote Republican (McCain) if the Democratic nomination is "stolen" from Obama.

  • I cannot watch the debates that include Tim Russert. He makes me break out in hives. Judging by the live blog, I'm glad I didn't turn it on tonight. My eye started twitching just watching the Farrakhan clip buffer.
