  • Romney is a weak Bush yes-man. Obviously they will have to put Jed Bush in the White House to run it when McCain can no longer remember his own name.

  • Bill Clinton proved yesterday why Hillary can't be VP. Even in Africa he managed to find a microphone and without even being asked by the reporter he talked about the one subject that Obama was trying to close down: race. Short of sending Bill to outer space for eight years, you just can't have Hillary near the White House. Bill is mad because he's no longer king.

  • It's Ohio. If we don't win Ohio we have to pick up some red states i.e. Colorado. I'm not worried about Florida, but Obama needs to try to keep it close so McCain has to worry about Florida. If we get Kerry's states, Indiana (partly in Chicago's local media area) and Iowa = 270
I think we can get Indiana and Iowa. We need Ohio. Just spend enough in Florida to keep the Repugs worrying about it.
Obama knows what he has to do and he will do it. And if we all have to go to Ohio or Missouri and volunteer to win this election then I'm there. We will win this because losing is not conceivable.

  • People who say this election is Obama's to lose is underestimating the 26-year career of McCain. The question is, with that long of a career and national popularity why is McCain only tying with someone who has been on the national stage only a few years? People won't like McCain so much if he takes the lead, they like him as the underdog. Especially if he is running a negative and untruthful campaign, which he also did against Romney. He lied in Florida to beat Romney for the nomination. Soon the media will catch on that McCain is not the man they thought he was. He's just a crankier version of Bush, which makes him Cheney.

  • Obama can't attack McCain on his age. He can hint at it, using words like "cynical" but if he attacks McCain on age then a lot of people over 50 will be insulted. These polls do not include the youth, and they will turn out to vote this time. And anybody counting on the MSM to help the Democrats they must have been out of the country for the last two elections.
It's up to volunteers, donations, and the ground game. We knew this in February, we will have to work hard to override the corporate media.
It's not about Florida this time, it's about Ohio. GOP will probably pick up Florida, they have a Republican state government, including governor.
Remember that Obama called each state in the primary almost to the exact number months ahead of time. He knows what he has to do to win just as he did then.

  • Obama needs to pick a Catholic. As Tim Russert said his dad told him, "We support him (JFK)because he is one of us." A lot of Catholics will vote for a Catholic VP, and that's a group that Obama needs to strengthen his support.

  • The first thing I thought when I read Lieberman's remark "nice young man" is he is calling him "boy." We'll see who calls who "boy" after Obama wins. Lieberman's days are numbered as a politician.

  • We already know who McCain's VP will be. It will be Romney because he is another Bush yes-man, and he would be most likely acting as president as McCain's Alzheimers gets worse. Bush/Cheney picked Romney months ago for VP to serve a third term for Bush. It's sad because if McCain was still at full mental capacity he would never have become Bush's puppet. Romney will lap it up eagerly though.

  • "McCain's biggest mistake was making the attacks himself. This sort of thing only makes him look small. He should have farmed this stuff out to surrogates."

I agree. The media is turning against McCain's obvious disdain for the Democratic candidate. If McCain hadn't acted the same way toward Romney it might be more effective, but it's really making McCain look arrogant to be so dismissive again to his opponent. Obama needs to travel with some big weights to show he isn't an empty suit like McCain is trying to portray him as.
I expect Obama to name his VP this week, especially since two smear books are coming out on him. I hope it's someone strong on attacking back.

  • Don't forget, McCain won't have Lieberman on the stage whispering in his ear when he gets confused. It's going to be sad to watch the old man stumble around unless they can think of a way to "fix" the debates for him like they do his townhall meetings.
Doesn't matter though what McCain says because it's already been explained this week that the candidate doesn't speak for the campaign.
