The CA debate
First of all, I am an Obama supporter. I think two points have been overlooked from the CA dem debate. First, on economic policy, Hillary's ideas would be a disaster. Freeze interest rate? That would have a profound impact in...more »

I have two observations.
One, how did the higher-ups learn about this? A reporter from the Washington Times? How did he hear about this? Was it someone in the office of the snoopers or someone else in the State Department? Or, was the info more wide-spread than State is acknowledging?
Regarding the breach of the Obama files. I understand that on the dates they took place he was in the news for various wins and defeats, but I don't think the information--if any was uncovered--would have been used right away but more likely used at another important point in the campaign.
Also, did they ever find out who sent the "Obama in Native Garb" picture to Drudge?

Call me naive, but I fail to see the horror in Rev. Wright's comments.
Did he speak untruths, or did he use uncomfortable metaphors for the injustice that African-Americans have suffered for years?
Wright's comments about 9-11 are disconcerting, but are they untrue?
Do I like anyone shouting from the pulpit? No, but is his shouting so different from the many white clerics whose opinions drive so many Christians, Muslims, Evangelicals and others in this country.

Can you still vote as a superdelegate if you've been indicted? Does this mean that Hillary loses a vote?

Thank you one and all. This thread is great. I'm so tired of being manipulated; I feel as though the entire political spectrum as become the typical family of an alcoholic...the dysfuntional kind, before they get help.
The HRC campaign, and HRC herself, have been pampered and enabled. The MSM is scared, they don't want to be called sexist. And, though I can guess that the name Chris Matthews will elicit a groan from many, he had it right.
Hillary has been aided by the coindidence that her last name is the same as that of the last Democratic president, and of course that she is the legendary "wronged woman" who rides to victory on "sympathy."
The lies she is spewing seem to be best characterized as a "wee bit silly for exaggerating the part she played", according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province.
A wee bit silly, but horribly damaging if not called to account.

NEWSFLASH for all the women out there. It's ok not to like Hillary. We've all met her type before, and the male-dominated press doesn't know how to fight back against her. When Hillary whines, the press file into the hall. Why is all the junk her campaign spews out always at the top of the fold?
She's not strong, she's dependent on her husband. Is she a fighter? Oh, yeah, but to what purpose? To what purpose.

The press these days reminds me of the run-up to the Iraq War. They don't report the facts, ie, the latest on NAFTAgate or the comparison of the way the campaigns work (F*** you, etc. vs. Monster)
When the story broke against Obama, it was front page. When we find out that it's a lie, "Obama didn't handle that very well."
We're considered psychotic if we don't "like" Hillary, and we're groupies if we like Obama.
Is it in the vested interest of the press to keep things the way they are?
Is proving that you can sling mud as well as the next guy really a great test for a president?
Well, let's see, fur'ners....Canada and Scotland. Doesn't compare to Dubai and K***stan.

Thanks for the post. I, too, will probably contribute some more money to the Obama campaign.
We Obama supporters had a rough night last night. But we've been spoiled by Obama's routs...and they were routs...during February.
I'm tired of hearing that my demographic sticks to Hillary. I'm white, female, and I'm 61. There isn't any way that I want Hillary or Bill back in the White House.
Hillary's victimhood, which she's cultivated over many years, has played to her advantage. MA THEY'RE PICKIN' ON ME. All the junk from the 90s makes any Rezko stuff look like small potatoes.
I think Obama should come out with simple crystal-clear statements on how he intends to govern. I understand his positions, but people less interested in politics than I am tend to make judgements based on soundbites.
So, my question is this: when they talk about affordable healthcare, how much will it cost?
