OH-12: DCCC, John Glenn, Offer Support To Korean War Vet

Last week, the DCCC added Ohio's 12th district to its "emerging races list," indicating that it thinks that Democratic candidate Robert Shamansky might have a shot at unseating GOP Rep. Pat Tiberi. Shamansky, a 79-year-old former congressman and Korean War vet, has put a million dollars of his own money into winning back his old seat. Today, he aired his first TV ad, featuring former astronaut and Ohio Senator John Glenn. While it will certainly be an uphill battle, the ad, along with Shamansky's money and the difficult national environment for Republicans, has forced Tiberi to go on air early as well.

Although Ohio's 12th district has not been considered to be among the more competitive House races this year, Democractic Challenger Bob Shamansky has attempted to give his campaign against three-term Republican incumbent Pat Tiberi a shot in the arm with an influx of $750,000 of his own money on Wednesday, bringing the total amount he has contributed to his own campaign to over $1 million.
