Rep. Davis (R-KY) Apologizes For Calling Obama "That Boy"

Rep. Geoff Davis (R-KY) has publicly apologized to Barack Obama after it was reported that he referred to Obama as "that boy" at a GOP fundraiser.

"My poor choice of words is regrettable and was in no way meant to impugn you or your integrity," Davis wrote in a letter that was delivered to Obama's Senate office. "I offer my sincere apology to you and ask for your forgiveness."

The remarks happened at a local GOP dinner in Davis' district on Saturday night. "I'm going to tell you something: That boy's finger does not need to be on the button," Davis declared.

KY-04: GOP Rep. Davis Has No Idea How Many Soldiers Died This Month

GOP Rep. Geoff Davis -- a member of the party which claims to be the one grasping the importance of the Iraq war -- yesterday revealed that he didn't have any idea whatsoever how many U.S. soldiers had died in October. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that when he was asked how many had died this month at a debate with Dem challenger Ken Lucas, Davis replied: "I believe it is 17." The questioner rejoined : "It's more like 71." Lucas pounced, saying Davis "minimizes what's going on" in Iraq. And then, referring to the fact that 17 and 71 are mirror images of each other, Lucas quipped that Davis is "dyslexic."

KY-04: GOP Rep. Davis Donates $1,000 Recieved From Foley To Child Advocay Agency

Rep. Geoff Davis is the latest pol to pawn off cash recieved from disgraced Congressman Mark Foley's political action committee. According to a statement released by Davis, he donated the $1,000 to the Boone County Court Appointed Special Advocates, Inc. (CASA) on Friday after Foley resigned from the House.

GOP Rep. Geoff Davis accepted money from admitted felon former Rep. Bob Ney, but has refused to return it, according to Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Patrick Crowley. Crowley expects Dem candidate Ken Lucas to make political hay of this soon. Keep your eyes open!
