Coleman Calls In Lead Bush Lawyer From 2000 Florida Recount

Here's another wrinkle in the never-ending Minnesota recount: The Coleman campaign has accused Al Franken of turning the state into a new Florida, but it turns out Coleman's own legal team includes one Benjamin Ginsberg, who served on George W. Bush's legal team during the 2000 recount.

And the Florida recount wasn't the only mess Ginsberg was involved in -- he also served as a legal adviser to the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth back in 2004, and was forced to resign from the Bush re-election campaign after that had been revealed.

This is even funnier when you consider that the Democratic Sec. of State Mark Ritchie said at a press conference this past Friday that he hoped seeing this recount to completion might heal some of the wounds from Florida in 2000, when a recount was stopped.

I used to get a kick out of Right wingnuts' inability to recognize irony but now it's just sad.

shame on Coleman for dragging this out this long.

he should concede and allow senator Franken to take his seat.

also i look forward to the Faux News station being shut down, specifically billo.

Coleman knows he's losing or else he wouldn't be bringing in new folks at this late date. Franken got it right from the start when he fielded a great team who were determined not to make the same mistakes Gore made in 2000.

Judging by the how he out-worked, out-PR'ed and out-smarted the repubs, I'm excited to have him in the Senate.

Coleman is losing and he isn't very happy about it. The truth is I want to see every vote counted and if somehow during the absentee recount Coleman comes back to win I won't be upset. I won't be happy, but I won't be upset.

I know it's a report on FoxNews, but if I were Coleman and this was happening to me I'd be getting a bunch of lawyers too...

This is just normal Faux spin.

The public has access to EVERY SINGLE disputed ballot. It's been the most transparent election probably in the history of the world. When I looked at the disputed ballots and the decisons the canvassing board made (granted I didn't look at every one) they were consistent in how they applied the rules regardless of who it helped or hurt.

It's a matter of who do you want to believe, Faux News or your lying eyes.

Each of the ballots shown in the report is linked to the Star Tribune web-page. It shows what the people polled think and where the vote was awarded. Some show 98% think it's a Coleman vote and the Board gave it to Franken. You shouldn't discount the facts just because they appear on Fox. I don't think the biggest Franken supporter can look at some of these they cited and say they were awarded properly.

Frankly, SFC Wallace, there is a substantial body of history that supports the routine dismissal of whatever FAUX nooze claims are the facts.

Wallace, but this isn't happening. The Star Tribune made a mistake; that ballot was awarded to Coleman, not Franken.

Sorry. Faux News' could have checked the official data with the SoS before generating outrage. So sorry. Really, truly sorry.

user-pic

...so, all of the contested ballots in the FNC report are erroneous? The Star Tribune made the mistake?...do you have a link to their retraction...or correction?

user-pic

How's this?

You might have to scroll down to read the whole article.

...and the other 4 ballots cired in the article...not to mention the Franken ones...all "typos?"

user-pic

The Star Tribune must still have it wrong...#'s 2 and 10 were in the report...

"I am always amazed at the lengths Democrats will lie, cheat and steal to win an election."

- Ben Ginsberg (... in Recount)

I'll see your Ginsberg, with a David Boies, and raise you a Lawrence Tribe...

And we'll bring in paid activists to protest and intimidate election officials just like the republicans did during the Florida recount with their "rent-a-mobs". That neat trick shut down the Miami Dade recount thus sealing the electoral theft of the ages.
