Bush: "We're A Center-Right Country"
President Bush, in an interview with Real Clear Politics:
"I still think we're a right-of-center country," the President responded when asked whether the election offered proof that the ideological center of the country had shifted to the left.
Never mind that huge majorities support Obama's domestic and foreign policy agena, which includes pulling out of Iraq, talking to hostile foreign leaders, making health care available to everyone, hiking taxes on the rich, combating global warming, etc. etc.

ROFLMAO!
And if every dove in Dallas Co. hadn't frozen solid overnight, I would have scared them all - I laughed that loudly!

"So what?"
Thanks for this, Greg!
Perhaps Jon Mecham will now realize just how profoundly stooooooopid his pronouncement actually was, now that President Bush agrees with him...

Do you think it's even remotely possible that way down deep, way, WAY down deep, he knows what a screw-up he is?
The shoe thing was the perfect capper to his "victory lap"

I don't think Bush is the self-introspection type.
The real question is, when Bush looks in the mirror, does he realize that's a reflection of himself, or does he think there's another guy somewhere behind the window.....

I think the Left should just boycott covering anything that drools out of Shrubby, Cheney, Rove, Grinch and the other lameduck GOP wankers.
There are way too many important national and international issues that need to be addressed. We shouldn't waste brain cells or batteries listening/reading anything these crooks have to say.
You could have a more intelligent conversation with a 4 year old.

Hah! I wonder if he realizes that even HE had to move to the left just to dodge that shoe.

I've been pitching mine at the TV screen for the past eight years. What vicarious pleasure I got out of Al-Zeidi's move. Too bad they weren't baseball cleats. Or Blahnik spikes aimed heel-first.

Don't know if it would have mattered. Looking at the tape, Bush seems pretty good at dodging things...

It's a concerted effort by the Republicans to mention "center-right" every chance the get. It's some super-secret GOP strategy that they've got the MSM echoing, hoping it will be a generally accepted notion.
Somebody should trademark it before the Jeb Bush 2012 campaign does. Hell if I knew how, I'd cybersquat on a few web domains "CenterRightNation.com", "CenterRightCountry.com" "Center-Right.com" "RightofCenterUSA.com".

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the Republican naming/labeling/framing games are starting to unravel a bit.
But if you buy the domains, I bet someone will come knocking. It's not as if Republicans have some work to do. Nope, let's label something!

I spent the last eight years finding myself continually surprised to discover they were even more clueless and delusional than I thought. Now, finally, I'm like "well of course he thinks we're a center-right country."

I find myself reacting the same way... we can set our watches (so to speak) by how off target and out of touch with reality GW is. Based on reality of course 'he' would see 'us' that way.

I feel sorry for Obama on Inauguration Day having to try to come up with something nice to say about Shrub in his speech. I mean, every new president says something decent about the outgoing guy. What in blazes can Obama say with a straight face?? There really is nothing to give Bush any credit for!
