Biden: Why Can't I Get As Much Attention As Sarah Palin?
Joe Biden had a bit of fun today at the National Governors Association meeting in Philadelphia, mocking the fact that Sarah Palin gets far more press attention these days than he does, despite his being the Veep-elect.
According to the pool report, Biden addressed Palin at the meeting and made the tongue-in-cheek request that she appear publicly with him in order to get the media to give him some love, too:
"And Governor Palin, I want to thank you particularly.""I might point out, as I told you...since the race is over, no one pays attention to me at all. So I'm -- maybe you will walk outside with me or something later and say hello to me."
The media attention gap between the actual Veep-elect and the failed one is possibly explained by the fact that Biden's public remarks yesterday at Obama's national security presser were his first in 26 days, but it's bizarre nonetheless.

I love Joe's little joke.
Jokes only work if there is truth in them.

Joe needs his own official Office of the Veep-elect web site, too. How about SmallChange.GOV?

Yeah he does - that's a good idea.

Do you mind if I call you Tena?

. . . 'cause I practiced a couple of zingers where I call you Teena!

Tena is the kind of person who sees America as so imperfect, that she would pal around with domestic bloggers who criticized their own country.

I guess she's not part of the "real america" like the rest of us. Unlike you of course.
Rambo in 2012. She's bringing cicely alaska to the lower 48. Great campaign slogan. Whattaya think?

The small town in which Palin used her "we're real Americans" hate-speech voted overwhelmingly for Obama.

Really, now that's fascinating information and speaks well of the "real america."

She was in Guilford County, NC where Greensboro is located. Greensboro/Guilford are heavily democratic so it's no surprise that they went for Obama.
But I'm willing to bet that those booger-eaters at her fundraiser were selling their fishing rods on eBay to raise money to defeat the "muslim terrorist liberal socialist who don't like real americans who achieve and succeed and love God."

Teena is afraid to get all mavericky in there are ruffle feathers. We need a mavericky Teena who will fight for Joe Six Pack and Tito the Builder in this great country of patriotic small town americans and also too not gonna allow that to be in addition to altogether . . .

For the next 4 years, it'll be enjoyable to listen to VP Biden and his quaint sense of humor!

And his gaffs!
As a kid, he was a stutterer. So sometimes his brain overruns his tongue. But the media that have covered him have never twisted his gaffs into abusive nonsense because they like him: he's refreshing because unscripted.

And incredibly honest. Honesty goes a long way, even with the right-wing corporate media hacks.

From the Morning Roundup:
Might? What's BigO gonna do, get Dubya to nominate her???
Guess I've been shaking my head too much at media characterizations of what happened yesterday as Hillary having been "officially nominated". The only "official" thing that happened was that Barack and Hillary announced their intentions: him to nominate and her to accept.
See what kind of confusion arises when we have one-and-a-half Presidents at once?
OM, sorry for the rant. I'm sure my meds will kick in shortly!

Cut everybody some slack, baby. Everybody wants to see Bush gone so so very much, and most people are so enthusiastic about President Obama, that this is easy for me to understand. We all feel like this - I go around all day every day muttering: "Get out of my house, Bush..."
I don't think January 20 can get here fast enough for anybody except those people who are dreading the day they lose governmental immunity.
BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHahahahahaha!

Heh heh, I've always felt that transition periods are weird. That the old guy's still hanging around just makes everything.....uncomfortable.

Like John Belushi on that old SNL horror movie skit, "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave."
From memory:
Belushi: I wonder what's on the late show?
Curtin: Agh!!!!!!!!!!

In the scheme of things I can see why he's under the radar. On the one hand I believe the transition guys are trying to keep a pure message and not divert attention from the Cabinet appointments and Obama's message. On the other hand the press like small shiny objects that glitter when you stroke them like Palin. Biden is not as exciting to the press and is doing just what the transition team needs him to do for the moment.
The fact that he uses his situation as an excuse to poke fun at Palin is fantastic though :-)

Maybe he should start wearing stillettos and designer dresses from neiman marcus and talk in a whiney voice. That would get him some attention.

Drag bores me but if he skipped the whiny voice part it'd take my (already high) opinion of him to a whole different level!
HA

Ah, drag is fun, as long as it's in designer clothes. I think that's what brought down mr. 9/11. He didn't wear designer clothes.

That and with his face it's just too much suspension of disbelief. If he'd been wearing army boots with his dime-store wig it might have played better LOL

Yep, if only he had used rambo of the great northwest's makeup artist. He might have pulled it off even with the dime store wig and army boots. Too funny.

It is bizzare. It's fair to assume Obama tean doesn't want Joe's loose mouth to trip them during the transition team.

Biden's primary will be to ensure that Obama can get his agenda pushed forward with Congress and getting the right bills on Obama's desk on Jan 20. I'm sure he plenty busy working with them behind the scenes.

She makes it easy on the writers for SNL though. All they have to do is transcribe what she says. She is a walking, talking parody of herself. Too funny.
