Obama Wins Pennsylvania, Networks Say
MSNBC and ABC call McCain's "last stand" state for Obama.
That's a very early call, suggesting a big, big win.
More soon.
Late Update: The exit polls suggest that Obama won solid victories among key groups: He won among voters with only a high-school education, among Catholics, decisively among independents, among men, white women, among whites making under $50,000, and among voters of all age groups, including 65 or over.
Late Late Update: Fox calls the state for Obama, too.
Late Late Late Update: MSNBC exits show that Dems who wanted Hillary to win the primary went for Obama overwhelmingly, 81%-19%.

Hurray for PA!!! From "a highly educated Montgomery County, PA girl!!
I'm watching MSNBC, you can sure tell Chris Matthews is gunning for a Senate seat in PA in 2010. I guess he thinks Arlen Spector will be too sick to run then? Will he run as a Republican or a Democrat?
Can't wait to see what the voter turnout rate was for the metro Philly area and the African-American and youth vote! My eighteen year old son voted for the first time this election . . . for Obama!
November 4, 2008 8:12 PM | Reply | Permalink
Matthews better start boning up on the coal industry then--and from the (under)ground level on up. It's a lot of people's livelihood, including trucking.
Here in Central PA (soft coal country) the big Republican scare is that there will no longer be a market for coal--regulated out of business with all the 'clean coal' talk. I tell them to stop worrying, Arlen Specter always did well by miners. So much that Dems will split their ticket to vote for him.

just got home from a grueling 14 hour shift lawyering for barack at a northern virginia precinct. we were a houdini district, meaning HEAVILY dem. we had around 82% turnout, including absentees. the norm is just under 70% for a presidential election.
we had a couple of good battles with the mccain lawyers, and we put them down on the pavement each time.
WIN THIS BITCH NOW, AMERICA!!!!!
