No Obama Cabinet Appointments This Week
It turns out that there won't be any Obama cabinet appointments announced this week.
"No Cabinet announcements this week," Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter told Reuters.

Ok.
I was saying below that I read this weekend how treacherous the transition period is.
The thing that I love is that Obama is so careful. I don't think he's cautious - I think he's bold, but he's careful and after 8 years of criminal carelessness, I really am thrilled.

Damn this system - it says two comments but mine didn't post.
Ok - no cabinet appointments. I guess that means we're back to talking about all Lieberman all the time.
;)

This bitch of a system - I loaded this page 6 times and decided my comment was lost and I post another and the first shows up.
Loves to keep us on our toes.

He is handling this correctly. He should beef up his White House staff and THEN announce his cabinet positions.

Bush is holding his big G20 Economic Summit this Friday and it was believed by some that Obama would hold off on naming a Treasury Secretary as to not step on any toes or send mixed messages at this time.
Ambinder is reporting that there will be further staff announcements, however...

Did Dubya offer that hand sanitizer before or after they shook hands? It makes a big difference in the message it sends, ya know!
Of course, that was before Joe Biden certified Obama as being clean.
Ironically, the danger to Dubya from Obama is likely much less than if he had shaken hands with Hillary!

Hey that is a cool article.
They use pomegranate juice heavily in middle eastern cooking - that sounds like a winner. Plus it has gotten really hot over here - it's everywhere.
The new super-juice.
Of course, I'm rather a fan of opium; hate to see all those fields converted to legal uses -
LOL!

OT, but an interesting story about how far Obama has come in the last few years:

O for god's sake: a waiter - and in '04, Bush offered President Obama hand sanitizer when they met.
Everybody has consistently underestimated our new president. Even the left has underestimated him.
This is going to be fun.

If you think about it, it's all been working to his advantage. Makes me wonder if foreign heads-of-states will make the same underestimating error so Pres. Obama can take full advantage of their foolishness! Think Putin, Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-Il, al-Malik, Karzai just to name a few.

Well, *this* news will make Bob Schieffer's head explode. He was pissed yesterday when Rahm Emmanuel went on Faced the Ration and "didn't make any news." My wife and I laughed our asses off. ("Dammit, we're not getting what we want! We want access!")
The other interesting thing is how all the villagers seem to be pushing Obama's spokespeople to say there just might be a wee, little income tax break for the rich. "C'mon, times are tough. Don't you think you should give upper-income AMERICANS a tax break, too?" Stephanopoulos was almost apoplectic.
Umm...no, George, not so much.
November 10, 2008 12:49 PM | Reply | Permalink
Is George making that much money that he's that worried?
If he's making that much he ought to be able to afford to pay a tax lawyer to keep from paying more in taxes. Make up your mind, George - your money can go back into the society that allows you to make money for running your mouth or you can line a lawyer's pockets.
Up to you.

Pretend you're on a fishing expedition. You know the fish are the cause it's a lake...no place else to go...but you aren't catching any fish. Perhaps you're using the wrong bait?

Remember Kerry's comment in the second debate in '04?
"Only three people in this room make too much for my tax break: me, the president, and I'm sorry, Charlie (Gibson), but probably you, too."
Hire an attorney, Stephie.
(Schieffer, BTW, grilled Emmanuel on the same question. Rahm led them both on a wild goose chase that ended in repeating Obama's original statement about who his tax breaks would be for. That's when Schieffer started to get red in the face. Funny stuff.)

Take Karl Rove, turn him inside out and sound like you get a Rahm Emanuel. I would caution him to avoid getting anywhere near Rove...opposites attract and the end result is both their annihilation...the rules of Mother Nature must be followed.
