Palin Praises The "Energy" Of The Crowds At Her Rallies
This is a good one. In an interview with a local TV station in North Carolina, Sarah Palin offered glowing praise of what she rather delicately termed the "energy" of her rallies:
QUESTION: You've been at this particular part of your career now for several weeks. what's been your greatest surprise and greatest frustration so far?PALIN: Oh, greatest surprise has been the energy at these rallies. Amazing people -- it's such a diverse group of people showing up at these rallies, just very energizing and supportive.
And that encourages us of course to get through the day and get that message out there about the change that's coming, about the tickets that have such contrasts in them. So the people who've been at these rallies have just been absolutely the most wonderful and encouraging surprise.
There's no quibbling with one thing she said: Her crowds are indeed "supportive." As for the "energy" at these rallies, the reporter who was assaulted at a recent Palin gathering might find that a bit of an understatement.
Late Update: Here's the video:

Yes, well, if by "diverse" you mean "older and whiter" than the rest of America, then, I'd agree: you've got quite the "diverse" audience, Guv.

Truth in advertising, 200,000 of the 600,000 (you falsly claim) don't match SSN and DMV data bases. All the GOP wanted was county election officials to have access to the 200,000 now to start correcting the list.

Diverse? I've seen the crowd shots at her rallies. Diverse really isn't the first word that comes to mind.
I really need a Palin-American dictionary to help me understand this woman.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: “We’ve watched John McCain over the years do things like Patients’ Bill of Rights, the McCain-Feingold reform bill. A number of cases where he has been able to reach across the aisle and get things done, even with Kennedy and Edwards and people like that, Feingold, people like that on the Democratic side. Can you give me a case where Barack Obama has reached across the aisle and cut a deal and gotten something done for the country? One example.”
Governor David Paterson: “Well, Senator Obama has been there two years and I can’t cite an example right now. But I know that did he collaborate with one of Republican senators on one of the issues. I just can’t name it off the top — ”
Matthews: “But the problem is you’re basing his success on a lack of achievement aren’t you? You’re saying he’s going to succeed and you can’t name a success.” …

Maybe Paterson couldn't remember, but I can.
Obama successfully worked with Dick Lugar to pass the Lugar-Obama bill which dealt with securing weapons in old soviet countries to keep them out of the hands of terrorists.
He also worked Sen. Coburn to pass the "Google for government" bill that created the website that allows people to see everything that the government is spending money on and who they're contracting with.
Any notion that Obama doesn't have a track-record of working across the aisle is pure ignorance.

The African Press International news agency, which reported that Michelle Obama called to protest its coverage of WND investigative stories about her husband – characterizing the source of the material as "racist" and describing WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi as "evil" – now is calling on the possible first lady of the United States to "come clean" about her call.
As WND reported, the Norway-based API said Michelle Obama called to accuse the agency of "colluding with American Internet bloggers in an effort to bring down her husband."
The Obama campaign immediately denied there had been any telephone call from Michelle Obama, flatly dismissing the story as "not real" and "made up." API later responded by claiming it had recorded the conversation. Besieged by demands from both sides of a campaign that has reached the white-hot stage, the agency said although it had the tapes, it would not release them immediately. Now, in a statement dated Friday because of the time difference, API Chief Editor Korir has promised that the tape will be made available after his lawyers clear it for publication, and he denied being an advocate either for or against Obama's campaign. He said the delay also is intended to allow Michelle Obama to explain her actions first. There was no response to a WND call to the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago tonight to request a comment.
Will Racist and American Hater, Michelle Oilbama, whose husband voted for the Bush Cheney Energy Bill, sink her husbands campaign with her big fat mouth?
Stay tuned.

Yeah, DEATH THREATS and ASSAULT, what's not to be "proud" of???
And the partisan Bush-controlled Secret Service is aiding and abetting it all
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/observer2/2008/10/bush-rove-controlled-secret-se.php
As for "diverse", well she might have a point. You got:
* closet racists who use "muslim" fears as an excuse to vote against the black guy
* rightwing ideologues who itch for a culture war
* religious fanatics who believe Palin is a signal the Rapture is coming
* uncloseted out-and-out racists
* criminal thugs, who agitate for violence -- can we call them terrorists?
It's a regular Rainbow Coalition all right.
It really is something of a lynch mob developing there. All it takes is one wacko with a gun to show up for this to become something very dangerous. Playing with fire.....

TPM? DemBillC routinely plagiarizes the writing of other individuals. For instance, the post beginning with "The African Press...." is lifted entirely from World News Daily.
I tend to think WDN is one of the crack-pottiest of the crackpots, but plagiarism is plagiarism, and why is Election Central willing to accept comments from an individual who does nothing BUT plagiarize other writers?

No offense, but can we take a cue from Obama and stay cool about this rather than not? I don't like seeing the fear-factor ratcheted up like this - we can't do anything about it, in the first place, except worry.
I can tell you from years and years of experience: worrying never changed one damn thing.

^C^V Co-sign. Nothing to see here. The loonies will stay marginalized as long as we don't feed them attention. As for the radical palinites taking seditious action, say what you want about the SS but those guys are all about their job. They do not play games or mess around. They take protecting their man VERY seriously. Is much as I love the conspiratorial notion that the bushies have politicized the SS, I don't believe it for a minute.

The Secret Service is as immune from Bush/Rove political machinations as the DOJ. Oh wait ....
I listened to people lecture us about the 'tremendous professionalism' of the SS, and that they were on top of these threats.
Then the SS claimed the threats didn't happen based on interviews with the pro-McCain crowds themselves.
And remember this?
http://www.star-telegram.com/667/story/486413.html
Stinks to high heaven.
Tena, this is not about ratcheting up fear, but about the outrage of another government agency being abused by Bush-Rove-McCain.

I was thinking about what the future holds for her after the Secret Service and protective media shield is gone. Her approval rating in Alaska is dropping, she may have charges waiting for her when she gets back. I'm betting that Levi's going to ditch Bristol before there's any wedding. She'll be in a "Where Are They Now?" column in Parade magazine in a couple of years.
On the upside, she'll have some great career opportunities open up for her in supermarket openings and car shows. If she gets contact lenses, they might even let her show the sexy new concept cars.
