New McCain Ad Decries The Partisanship He Indulged In Repeatedly
The McCain campaign goes up with another ad about the economic crisis, decrying the partisanship and fingerpointing over the bailout-implosion that John McCain himself repeatedly contributed to with such gusto:
"Democrats blamed Republicans. Republicans blamed Democrats," McCain says in the ad. "We're the United States of America. It shouldn't take a crisis to pull us together."
One of the Republicans who blamed Democrats, of course, was McCain himself. He attacked Obama and Dems for helping cause the bailout collapse, and his campaign released an ad doing the same.
The new spot will be televised nationally.

Oh poor McCopycat. He's always late tothe game. So he sees Obama's "profile" positive ad, so he jumps on the bandwagon. Yesterday, Obama proposes the 250,000 FDIC new cap, thne he jumps on that too. Can he not think of anything original? Sheesh.

What a boob. Obama has 4-5 such ads, and now McCain wants to hop on that train.

Why is the lighting for McCain's "talk to the camera" ads so fucking ominous?
October 1, 2008 4:00 PM | Reply | Permalink
Good question. The only thing (aside from incompetence) is that they want people to feel that these are scary times and in scary times you need a "proven leader with experience."

I expect that it has something to do with trying to keep the scars on the right side of his face obscure. I am given to understand that he is worried about anything that would prompt the pundits to mention his many bouts with cancer.

Huh. If anything, that lighting really highlighted the weirdness going on with his left eye. Whatever the reason for his eyelid being swollen or droopy, in this video you really can't miss that something is not right.

It's his one eye. That was all I could focus on. And on a tv screen... OMG!!!
All I could think was: "We need a president who doesn't have diseased eye."
Last Wed, he was totally running amok. And hopes we've forgotten. Well I haven't!

O, McLame is going to go all nicey nice now and seem rational. This is how Commander CooCoo conned people into voting for him in 2000.
Unfortunately for McLame, Cmmdr Coocoo was consistent - thanks to Rove. And now everyone who voted for him so they could have him buy them a beer has just left with the bar tab and it's steep.
Doesn't work in McLame's favor.

I'm no McCain fan, but that is a pretty low-blow. Ann Coulter is truly despicable.
Hey, wasn't she going to vote for Hillary in the primaries? I wonder what ever happened to that story...

Why can't Obama come up with stuff like that, huh? Can someone tell me please? Why can't Obama say something about the UNITED States of America?

It is not the first time that Obama has been ahead in a MO poll, but it is the first time post-convention that he has been ahead in a MO poll. The last time a poll showed him ahead here was back in mid-July.

To me, as a psychologist, this picture completely fits with this guy's psychodynamics (as we say) - and lays out his longstanding character disorder better than anything I've seen. It' all fits together, just a like psych eval would.
You see the Drama Queen, the petulance, the arrogance, the acting out, hypocrisy.... etc.

Those CNN polls seem too good to be true - but they also make the other recent polls showing Obama leading in states like Virginia and Florida look less like outliers and more like reality. The greatest thing is that in these CNN polls, he's above 50 in every state except Missouri - and even there he just 1pt below 50.

So McCain wants Republicans & Democrats to put aside partisan difference and work together to blame the Democrats for everything.
What's more bi-partisan than that?

What's astonishing about this ad is that even here he can't relax and at least appear natural. The copy of the ad is avuncular (it could work if it were read properly), but he seems incapable of suppressing the fidgets and scowls.
But forget this ad. It his recent appearance before the Des Moines Register's editorial board that gave me more pause than anything I have seen from this man in the 15+ years I've been watching him. You can see clearly that it's all he can do not to leap out of his chair and punch the board member, a woman seated to his left, who asked him about the "sex education" and "lipstick" ads. And it isn't just that he delivered indignant, bald-faced lies in response. He did so with venom practically dripping from his lips.
All the talk lately is about Palin's qualifications. As far as I'm concerned, McCain is as poorly suited to the position as she is. A roman candle and a wet match.
