McCain Slime: The Maps!

The Obama campaign has set up a very useful, interactive map that allows you to track McCain's robo-slime and mail sleaze state by state. Check it out here.

We couldn't help but notice that it's awfully similar to the McCain slime map that we set up here at TPM the other day. It does pretty much the same thing as the Obama map does. You can view ours here.

Check them out -- they're both good stuff, particularly for those who take a bit of perverse pleasure in slime-wallowing. And no hard feelings: When it comes to tracking the slime, the more the merrier.

I get no pleasure from it -- ew -- but it is good to pass on to conservative family and friends.

Slimey. Gross.

actually, that's a great idea.

user-pic

Is there a plagiarism accusation embedded in the story?

user-pic

Imitation, flattery, all that.

But credit would be nice.

user-pic

Maybe Obama blogs here as Idiotic and saw it.

user-pic

Awesome. Even better than my hunch that Idiotic is Bill Clinton.

Morning.

I don't get it - yesterday when I got up it was 14. They're telling me it's 21 this morning but it's far colder.

Hmmmmmmmm -

user-pic

Depends on the humidity. If it's humid and cold, it feels colder. Wind can do that too.

user-pic

It's cloudy. What's odd is that whereas yesterday my garden didn't look frozen - this morning it is - totally frozen. Thank god that's all that is!

user-pic

It's cold, but it's a *dry* cold :-) 32 in SLC right now.

user-pic

What do ya'll think this is, a weather blog or something?

user-pic

O behave! Just cause I know it's still in the 80s and 90s back home where you are -

you're jealous!

user-pic

Nope, I live in Michigan now, where it's a chilly 35 right now overcast, with some wind.

Oh crap! Now you're making me do it!

user-pic

Gotcha! :-)

user-pic

They've cranked up the snowblowers up on Taos Mtn.

They're already laying down a base.

user-pic

Tena, its gonna warm up over the weekend, 70s in ABQ. AND, Obama in albuquerque this Saturday night. I gotta work, but it should be HUGE!!!!!!

I'm gonna vote today, woooohoooooo!!!!!!

user-pic

Gotta love those New York numbers. But, ironically, the tabloids are all about our upcoming opportunity to re-elect Mayor Mike...the only republican vote I ever cast! Contrarian town.

user-pic

I think mayoral races are always odd and I honestly don't think they are good patterns for any other races.

Local politics are different.

The Dallas paper makes it sound like Dallas is Repug - it's really not, just as Houston isn't. Yet, where Dallas Co. voted straight Democratic last time, we lost the mayoral race - we had a good candidate who almost won and would have been the first openly gay mayor we'd had.

So we have a Democratic voting county and Repug mayor. Houston has a very liberal Democratic mayor, the Chronical endorsed Obama but the country did not vote Democratic last time.

user-pic

The same is true of Fort Worth - awesome Democratic mayor; the county votes Repug.

user-pic

True, local is crazy...Bloomberg is from another planet, as far as the wackjob repub connotation goes. In my neighborhood you'd get mugged for even thinking about McCain, but everybody goes for Bloomberg. Great mayor, good guy.

user-pic

this is one - but just one - of my problems with the Bradley Effect.

oy - one reason I am convinced it's bogus.

user-pic

Acyually, most of the articles I've read said the whole premise of the Bradley effect was bogus.

user-pic

Yep. Not even sure if it was real the first time around.

user-pic

Had a frost here along the Long Island Sound in CT.

In the immortal words of Caribou Barbie, "I mean, that's just, bad!"

user-pic

LOLOLOLOL!!!!

If people only knew how frugal we are.

LOL! It's a bit hard for people to get that, dear, since you're walking around in couture. A $2500 Valentino jacket, among other things.

user-pic

The Empress's New Clothes.

user-pic

Valentino? It kinda looked Vinny Barbarino to me...

user-pic

I got a bit of a "Thriller" vibe from the Red Leather.

user-pic

O she loves that one - she's worn it a lot. I bet that's a $3000 jacket.

At least.

user-pic

i don't know seems more eddie murphy delirious than michael jackson thriller.

user-pic

I read they were going to donate the clothes. Imagine homeless people running around with Valentino Jackets and Louis Vuitton hand bags.

user-pic

Jon Stewart was riffing on that the other night...and he picked up on the red leather Thriller connotation too.

user-pic

Well, I was going to say how this once again shows what an incredible and smart operation the Obama campaign is to have this laid out in such a clear, telling and accessible way - but instead I'll just say it's 45 degrees and sunny here in the greater NY metro area.

user-pic

45 and drizzly here in the DeadGrass State, where it's a race to see which kills us first - the water bills from trying to save plantings during 12 weeks of No Rain, or the nursery bills from replacing all the dead plants.

user-pic

Wow. Impressive.

They must have an army of 50 Flash developers on paid staff.

On a related note - has anyone checked out the iPhone app? From what I read, they wrote that thing in under 2 weeks. Thats just silly fast. And I know.

They seriously bring ideas from mind to whiteboard to code to release faster than most software firms I know. And its always high quality. I wonder how much they pay ;)

user-pic

Actually, this thing is done without Flash. Its just Javascript and CSS.

Now I'm really jealous.

user-pic

Oh wow, you're right. That's intense.

user-pic

The trick is to have a giant library of reusable routines at your disposal. Makes rapid prototyping and development a breeze.

(In a former life I was a contributor to the Federal Reuse Repository)

It's 40 degrees, light drizzle and windy with a chance of high voter turnout and scattered electioneering here in Milwaukee.

user-pic

Why are so many robocalls going to Maine??? Why is he suddenly interested in Stephen King country, a true BLUE state??

What's up with that??

user-pic

They've covered New Mexico and Colorado - yet I have not gotten one robo call or mailer. I'm wondering if they just skipped the Taos Valley because they didn't think it was worth it - it's solidly Obama.

user-pic

Maine has split electoral votes. McCain could pick up 1 extra which would help get him to 270 in some scenarios - but none of those scenarios applies anymore. So it's really pointless.

user-pic

Trying to steal a couple of electoral votes. Maine is one of the few states that splits the votes.

user-pic

You dare to question the all-knowing McCain campaign? Friends, he knows how to robocall. He has a plan to robocall, and he will robocall, and he knows how to do it.

user-pic

Deafening robo silence in New York City. They know better. In this town people would even waste time screaming "fuck you" first to a robo machine instead of just hanging up.

user-pic

I was making calls to Espanola, to Independents and Republicans Wednesday night, and still got more Obama than McCain supporters (of the ones who would TELL me who they were voting for....Espanola is a very insular community.....)

user-pic

Yeah, why don't you canvass the High Road? Talk about insular - Chimayo, Truchas - you'd get shot.

LOL!

user-pic

I had a friend trying to live up in Chimayo - they firebombed her backyard.

Yes, parts of New Mexico are genuinely insular.

user-pic

I think canvassing the High Road is best left to native New Mexicans. I'm a New York transplant.......

user-pic

O god yes - she was from Connecticut - that was part of the problem.

That and that is Penitente country and they don't like strangers and I also understand it is one of the northern stops on the Mexican Heroin route into the US.

user-pic

Oh, but then there's Rancho de Chimayo...sublime.

user-pic

yeah, if you can afford it.....

user-pic

I am so glad the whole world is clearly seeing McCain-Palin's slimy tactics. But believe you me, none of it will prevail ! I rebuke all of it in the name and blood of Jesus and send it back to the pit of hell where it belongs ! I plead the blood of Jesus for Barack, his family, and his campaign daily !

No weapon forged against you [ Barack Obama] will prevail, and you [ Barack Obama] will refute every tongue that accuses you [ Barack Obama] . This is the heritage of the servants [ Barack Obama] of the LORD, and this is their [ Barack Obama] vindication from me," declares the LORD. - Isaiah 54:17

" I [ God ] will send my terror ahead of you [ Barack Obama] and throw into confusion every nation you [ Barack Obama] encounter. I [ God ] will make all your [ Barack Obama] enemies turn their backs and run." - Exodus 23:27

They will fight against you [ Barack Obama] but will not overcome you, for I [God ] am with you [ Barack Obama] and will rescue you," declares the LORD. - Jeremiah 1:19

The Lord will rescue me [ Barack Obama] from every evil attack and will bring me [ Barack Obama] safely to his heavenly kingdom. - 2 Timothy 4:18

11 For he will command his angels concerning you [ Barack Obama] to guard you [ Barack Obama ] in all your ways; 12 they will lift you [ Barack Obama ] up in their hands, so that you [ Barack Obama ] will not strike your [his] foot against a stone. 13 You [ Barack Obama ] will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you [ Barack Obama ] will trample the great lion and the serpent. - Psalm 91:11-13

I have given you [ Barack Obama ] authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you [ Barack Obama ]. - Luke 10:19

It's time for the American people to get it right and NOT vote for McCain-Palin, instead vote for change. It's time for this country to turn the page and seek a new and better future for ourselves and our children. It's time for REAL change in Washington, it's time to elect Barack Obama for president !

Obama-Biden are the wiser and stronger team to solve the crucial challenges we have in this nation and abroad !

Amen.
