McCain Now Running Robocalls Attacking Obama In Home State Of Arizona!
John McCain and the Republican National Committee are now running robocalls attacking Obama as weak on terrorism -- in McCain's home state of Arizona, according to multiple readers from the state.
The call signals genuine worry about McCain's home state at a time when several polls show the race to be much closer than expected there.
McCain's robocall, which was played to us over the phone by Mary Joe Bartel, a retiree who lives south of Tucson, attacks Obama as unprepared to defend the country from terrorism, singling out Joe Biden's recent remarks about the likelihood of Obama being tested by an international crisis early in his first term.
Here's the script:
I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because Barack Obama is so dangerously inexperienced, his running mate Joe Biden just said, he invites a major international crisis that he will be unprepared to handle alone. If Democrats win full control of government, they will want to give civil rights to terrorists and talk unconditionally to dictators and state sponsors of terror. Barack Obama and his Democratic allies lack the experience and judgment to lead America. This call was paid for by the Republican National Committee and authorized by McCain-Palin 2008.
Two other Arizona readers -- David Lorti, a Phoenix realtor, and Jerry Mooers, a retiree from Sun Lakes -- confirm to us that they received the same call today.
A poll last night found Obama within two points of the Arizona Senator. The call means Republicans are sinking resources into a state that obviously should have been a complete lock for McCain, with time fast running out.
Simply extraordinary. Audio when we get it.
Late Update: Here's the audio.

McCain absolutely does not support the idea of abortion in any shape nor form, however he clearly condones dehydrated babies. That is, an unwanted birth is put inside a machine whereby the process of extracting all it's liquid is undertaken. The baby therefore offers better shelf-life and occupies less space, and he needn't support abortion.
The babies can then be retrieved at whim with bottled hot water.
Of course, this is the GOP interpretation of 'How stuff works'.

For the hand-wringers (and believe me, I know how you feel), consider this: a lawyer friend of mine deals with bankruptcy cases. He told me that in 30 years of practice, he's never seen a bankrupt bookie. With this in mind, check out the odds being offered on the two candidates by a large selection of bookmakers.
Obama is being offered at between 1/14 to 1/10 (you'd have to bet 14 dollars to win back 1+your original bet. McCain is being offered by most bookies at 6/1 (you bet 1 dollar to get back 6+your original bet). Bookies are very rarely wrong. So although, like many of you, I won't truly relax until the election is over and has been declared for Obama, I'm pretty sanguine that McCombover and the Repugs are history.
Check the odds here:

She'd be the fav in '12 if he won as well, right? Assuming of course that they haven't screwed the pooch in the intervening four years.
Maybe she's not politically tone deaf in AK (well,...) but that shit don't fly on a national level I don't imagine. She's either completely unaware of how this looks to the entire GOP or is really pushing for a winger revolution in the Party.
Sounds good to me...

That's just what the old fool gets for trying to run a trophy VP.
Old fools always get theirs in the end and it's invariably from a younger woman.
She's poison and I knew that the first 5 minutes after she was announced.
She's dumb and she's vicious. But she's too dumb to be effectively vicious on a large scale - she does it better one on one.

True. I suppose, all things considered, we should be grateful the silly old bastard didn't pick a more palatable, effective running mate. I mean Mitt "I have a dopey name and my hair's set with cement" Romney might have made McDeranged a serious contender, strange as that may sound.
Still, all's well that ends well, I say. As long as these swine go down in flames and ignominy, I'll be a happy man...

If she runs in 2012, I hope her main talking point is that Obama is a black Muslim who pals around with terrorists. Because it's been really effective this year.
Honestly, Palin running in '12 would be a godsend for Democrats. She can't get anywhere close to 50% of the vote.

Unfortunately, this selfless move on his part would mean the indefinite postponing of Tuesday's election, but we'd understand he's putting country first.

I was one of the people reporting robocalls in Arizona. My wife got it. The message was different from the one cited in this article. Ours started out: "Did you know Barack Obama associates with terrorists . . ." For what it is worth, a Republican friend told me he knows of a few other Republicans who say they will vote for Obama, but don't really intend to. McCain is not really all that popular here. Republicans have told me they don't trust him and that they hate him for the stands he has taken on immigration, campaign finance, and a few other issues. Several Republicans have over the years told me that he is in the wrong party. I have a neighbor who is registered Republican. She is paying attention, and she still hasn't decided who to vote for. One more thing: Arizona has a huge number of registered independents. I think if the Democratic Party had spent money here they could have won. Arizona has a popular Democratic governor and my congressional district swung from a Republican to a Blue-Dog Democrat in the last election. Arizona has lots of Hispanics and lots of retirees who have moved here from other states. Turning red to blue is a real possibility.

Chin up, kiddo. It'll soon be over. Personally, I'm going to sleep for a week.
I've spent the last month sitting up all night, my laptop in front of me, TV on, checking, reading, comparing, venting...initially, my wife said, "bring your laptop to bed and watch the TV up there", but she soon realized that having the man next to you in bed screaming, "Die, you lying sack of shit...that's crap, you toad...someone shoot this fascist scumbag.." all night long was not conducive to sleep, so she just left me in peace downstairs. When this is over, Inez gets me back and the American people get their country back. It's a win/win.

Friday is Halloween, then you have the weekend where it's hard to nail down a television audience.
The thing that really hurts McCain with Palin's statement about having designs of running again in 4 years is that part of her following might just assume not vote for McCain now because their Sarah could be on top of the ticket in four years...

as a side note, i'm always excited when i see Obama-Biden posters/stickers/signs in random small towns around southern AZ; hopefully tucson's blue island will grow to include a large part of this usually very republican state!

Actually, the AZ island is Red and it's in the evil empire (Phoenix). Oh sure, there's some red fringe out there, but Tucson and Flagstaff are pretty blue.
I am so loving the idea of McCain in flames in his home state. I travel the country for work, proudly wearing my Obama '08 button & telling anyone who'll listen "Hey, I LIVE in McCain's state and I wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher" and then explain why.
I also love how Palin's throwing him under the bus - he has truly been palinized! (I'm new here, but assume everyone's seen the hilarious palinaspresident.us website, yes?)
What do you think of this theory: the RNC asked McCain to make the ultimate political sacrifice - run for prez and lose so the Dems would have to clean up the mess. I can't think of any other reason for his dysfunctional campaign.

Want a good Christmas present that any family member will enjoy? Here's a great gift any family member will enjoy. Inspirational poetry will make a great gift for your love ones who like to read or a good book for the entire house hold family to read! Here are a couple of poems selected from the poetry book that I'm talking about.
Title: Keep your Faith
Promise yourself you'll find a place to fit
Even if it seems as hard as it will get
Never quit
On something you've worked so hard for
Opportunity still knocks at peoples door
Title: I Love My Life
I love my life
For the reason that life's a blessing
To some, life come and go
With no teaching of a lesson
I love my life
Since life's a challenge
I attempt to make the best effort
Therefore, keeping my life in a complete balance
Title: Attitude Adjustment
What's your social behavior like?
Do your conversations turn into a fight?
Then your attitude hasn't been adjusted right
Make your state of mind polite
This will balance your heavy day to light
Title: My Ideology
The world is a target for destruction
Do not end up in a innumerable deduction
Our Ozone layer is polluted, due to careless decision
Save the earth, study pollution, and use it as a precision
Create a solution that defends
Oceans from litter and pollution inside of winds
Title: America, America
To introduce a few ideas of America
I simply ponder....
Oh, the wonderful beauty that lies in front ofthe shade!
Why do Americans have to intervene withother countries?
Title: Self Preparation
Use your time wisely as it's racing
Pick up a novel and read each line
See what it has to offer as power inside your mind
Try to advance from what the book has told
Then use it to progress towards a long term goal
Title: Star Twinkles
Bright & brightest little star
You're so far I wonder how you are
I miss the way your smile twinkles
I never will forget your small dimples
I think about you all night
Right before I start to write
Pretty star I need no kite
You're the person that shines so bright
Between dusk & dawn I want to stare into your eyes
I daydream I could touch you before sunrise
I sit by the sky as if it's a phone
The afternoon I shall start to postpone

I am a registered Democrat, I live in Arizona, and I received this robo-call today. I was so furious that I attempted to call the Republican National Committee (got messages that their voice mail was full, invalid extension numbers, etc.). My next phone call was to McCain's office in Phoenix where I reached an actual human being, who I proceeded to tell just what I thought about Senator McCain's tactics. I highly recommend calling any or all of McCain's official offices to voice your opinions. Ironically, a short time later I received a call from a local Democratic Party volunteer reminding me to mail in my ballot--so benign and pleasant after the assault by the Republicans!

How about some more FUN for a change during the Halloween season? At the expense of Govlin Palin that is!

Proof positive that the poll numbers showing the closeness of the race in AZ aren't just coming from Obama-biased pollsters.
Another very encouraging sign: Newsday reported this morning that a Hofstra University poll shows Obama ahead of McCain 42% to 39% among suburbanite voters (the economy, stupid). If McCain doesn't win the suburban vote, he's got to be in deep stuff.

I got one of those Arizona robocalls too!
McCain's "base" was slowly weakening ... he's been too nasty, to too many people, too many times, in this state. The flip-flops to appeal to the Theocrat wing of the party have damaged his credibility.
As for "maverick" ... that's a cow with no brand, waiting for be rounded up and castrated and branded. Any takers?

I'm glad to see the close poll numbers in phoenix, it shows that the people of Arizona see the need for change, and are moving in the direction of Obama.. I have resided in Arizona all of my life, voted for the last 15 years, a democrat, have asked several other democrat friends/family/co-workers as well as republicans who will be voting democrat and they were not solicited to participate in this poll, so we are optimistic that at the end of the day, the race is much, much closer, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Obama takes the valley of the sun.
Phoenicians are smart, and regardless of the political party, we are looking for change and Obama is clearly the man for change.
Obama 2008!!!!!!!!

I just got another one ... attacking Obama for his voting record, and for being liberal.
So I called the state headquarters and told them it wasn't working.

I live in AZ and have gotten two of the McCain robo calls. Every time they call, I go to Obama's website and give more money and call the Republican campaign and tell them. Signed up to make more phone calls also. I hope McPain loses AZ!
Go Obama/Biden

As a perpetual insomniac, I'm always surfing for sites to entertain me in the overnight hours. I must say I'm sorry I didn't find this site earlier!!! I've been reading all these comments and have to say I have been most entertained by them! Some very clever commentary here!
I live in PA & have gotten so many mailings I can paper my walls with them. Not that I would want to as I find the content thoroughly disgusting.
And for you poor folks in AZ...misery loves company...I've lost count as to the volume of Robo-calls I've gotten. I'm a registered Independent so I imagine the harassment will continue until Tues. I'm also disabled & don't drive anymore and the offers from the Repugnants to drive me to the polls are also starting to come in. Even though I ride to the polls with my husband I should take them up on the offer & then tell them on the ride home that Obama appreciates their support! That'll probabably get me dumped by the roadside, undesirable (even before my vote) that I am! After all, according to McPain, since I collect SSD I'm a drain on the system. I guess that means if elected he will eliminate me & others like me in favor of "The Master Race". Better keep that special needs babe close to your breast Sarah!
