OT, but interesting: What should Bush do when he leaves the White House. I say he should be made to "scrub public lavatories without a brush," but the CSM says he should run for Congress. Why not? Both are at the bottom of the public opinion barrel.

Nothing to lose really. I think this is only the beginning, come Thursday or Friday I think McCain/Palin will launch ridiculous ads that will not be able to be properly debunked by the following Tuesday. If your lies work and you win, who cares you won, and if they don't work and you lose - well you were losing anyways.

Haaretz claiming that the French president doesn't like Obama's Iran policies, says: "Obama says Iran is a 'tiny' country. 'Doesn't pose a serious threat.' Terrorism? Destroying Israel? Those aren't serious threats?"

So it's okay for Republicans to care what the French think?

This is what bankruptcy looks like. Fiscal bankruptcy, perhaps, but surely moral, ethical and intellectual bankruptcy.

One expects this sort of thing from those clinging to anything that might float. What is depressing -- and, on balance, the greater outrage -- is the complicity and greed of the media outlets that will run this, despite actual knowledge of its manifest falsity.

We just made a cross-border attack in Syria. A sign of things to come? Is the McCain camp re-running this ad because they have inside info that before 11/4, we may make a similar attack across the Iraq-Iran border? The administration can then claim that this wasn't an attempt at an October Suprise because, hey, we did it in Syria first and McCain isn't talking about Syria.

Things that make you go, "hmmmm?"

I like to picture Sarah Palin showing up in a few years on "Surreal Life" or one of those other shows that feature B-list celebs and folks from the "where-are-they-now" files. Maybe resulting in some kinda scandalous drunken hookup or obnoxious ego outburst caught on film, to be replayed ad nauseum for the next few decades.

That had to be one of the most misleading ads I have seen simply because it LITERALLY takes what he says, puts it in a blender, and puts it on high spin.

I dunno, I still think the "trust" issue is on the table. Obama's claim that Bill Ayers, for example, was just a guy in the neighborhood is a little too facile. You don't get through Harvard interested in public service and American cultural history without at least passing familiarity with the history of the Weather Underground.
