McCain Campaign Now Attacks Michelle Obama Over Ayers

The McCain campaign is now broadening their attack on Obama's past association with William Ayers to include Michelle Obama -- even though McCain has repeatedly said spouses should be off limits during the campaign.

The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well.

That's the entire attack. We wish we were joking. But we aren't.

In launching this latest, McCain is ditching yet another formerly-claimed principle as he faces the growing likelihood of defeat. In a statement back in June, the McCain campaign said: "Senator McCain agrees with Senator Obama that spouses should not be an issue in this campaign, and he has stated that position frequently."

The attack on Michelle came on a McCain conference call with reporters this afternoon featuring John Murtagh, who has been hitting Obama over the Weather Underground's attack on his family's home back in 1970. Murtagh noted that Dohrn and Michelle Obama had both worked at the firm starting in the late 1980s.

The firm's Chicago office currently employs more than 500 lawyers.

Murtagh didn't even bother alleging that the two even knew each other, instead suggesting that they might have. If so, he said, the Obamas have known the two longer than suspected.

"If it is true" that the two women knew each other, Murtagh said, "the relationship is almost a decade older than Senator Obama has acknowledged. And that can very easily be resolved by Senator Obama, by Mrs. Obama, by Mr. Ayers and by Ms. Dohrn."

"And incidentally, I would emphasize that we've all been focusing on Senator Obama," said Murtagh. "I think we need to speak to his wife."

Keep in mind that this wasn't any surrogate speaking off the cuff. He was on a call organized by the McCain campaign, and he was apparently reading from a prepared statement, which would of course have been vetted by McCain aides. And so another once-cherished McCain principle gets junked in the service of self-parody.

Here's the audio of the call:

Late Update: To clarify, we don't know that the McCain campaign vetted Murtagh's statement attacking. But it was made on a campaign conference call, and it constitutes the McCain campaign's official position until the McCain campaign says otherwise.

Any word on Malia Obama's possible prenatal contact with Ayers or Dohrn?

C'mon, Michael. All of us here in Chicago know for a fact that Malia is Bill and Bernadine's love child!

I think I already read somewhere that the kids went to the same school (although that seems strange given how much older Ayers is). So maybe they can get that attack in there as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went after the kids next. Where else do they have to go? Definitely not scruples preventing them for doing as such.

Can you trust a man who's daughter had a class with the daughter of a terrorist???

http://demockracy.com/senate-spotlight-minnesota/

to kjvd00. you sound silly. if thats the case I'm sure you didn't vote for bush because everyone knows he went to school with Osama Bin laden. and they were class mates that is a reported upon fact. so how do you sound now

Just because they "attended the same school," does not mean they attended it simultaneously.

user-pic

Hardly the issue. Any fool knows that the real concern is Sasha & Malia's ongoing indoctrination at the U of C Lab School, founded by that Menshevik, Dewey. It's precisely as I feared. Neo-Maoists, neo-Stalinists, & neo-Trotskyites are finally uniting for one massive tug on the beard of Uncle Sam. When does the RNC begin the long overdue ads pointing out these screamingly obvious associations???

Well, I guess this means we can talk about Todd Palin's membership in the AIP. Or perhap's Cindy McCain's stealing pills from her charity.

user-pic

Don't forget that Cindy McCain's dad (source of the beer bucks) was a convicted felon. Are we sure he wasn't Black or maybe a Mexican?

Well, Cindy is an un-convicted felony crime committer. And a junkie. And a thief. And a liar.

I want to know why Todd Palin prefers associating with pink fish. When did Cindy first meet Rush Limbaugh?

You are correct about this The REAL DIRK .... why do we not hear enough about what the Palin's are really all about /????

Republicans have created a Monster , one that will push John SIDNEY McCain to one side immediately they take the oval office on the grounds of 'insanity' VP's can do this you know !!! and she has a reputation of doing this...abusing her powers whilst in office

AYERS: the real issue is not whether Senator Obama knows this person or not....was his even his friend or not , the real question and issue is why has he been allowed to be around decent people and children unless everyone has exhonerated him from treason and accepted his renewed behaviour ????

why not ask these questions instead ???? what is wrong with those people that want 'guilty by association' linching ??

Do they think Ayers would have got all those millions to educate children if he had not been rehabilitated into society ?????

Time we stop the nonsense !
why blame Senator Obama for your troubles bitter fellow ????

HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.............
STOP THE MADNESS

This man should ask the USA why did they allow AYERS to become what he has become ??? a respectable person within a community...

He has even had the respect and

And we can't forget about Obama's ties to Osama. Fact (not rumor) has it that the same child that endorsed Ayers' violent tactics went to Pakistan as a 9-year-old. So sophisticated and talented was the kid that he became Osama's Toyota truck driver, his valet and his auto mechanic--he even wrote and produced those VCR tapes featuring Osama's bearded mug!
In addition, this fact sheet relates that Michelle was a partner-in-crime with her husband. She actually used the color printers at her office to copy several thousand copies of Hitler portraits then distribute them using GOVERNMENT ENVELOPES, postage paid!
Why are you "atrest", Chauncey? You should be out there, wearing a sandwich board proclaiming to the world that the Obama's are a menace to the world in general and to god-fearing Christians in particular!

Isn't anyone wondering what those 500+ lawyers at Sidley & Austin are thinking about Murtagh's charge that they are, and have been, harboring a Terrorist in their prestigious offices? A law firm's reputation is what justifies those high paying hourly billings. Anyone think they'll take this lying down? And Murtagh and McCain have smeared more than 500 of them.

Just when you thought they couldn't sink any lower they prove you wrong.

The McScum campaign must have shitted their pants to see Michelle on Larry King and Jon Stewart (she was fantastic on both of them).

The McScum campaign is bottomless as they go lower and lower. I'm furious if the media is dancing an equivalency dance again about this... this is just too much.

If they go after Michelle, Obama goes after Mr. Puddles.

Oh no! Not Mr. Puddles!

That almost made me spit out my beer!

user-pic
I'm furious if the media is dancing an equivalency dance again about this...

Bob Schieffer said this morning that the campaigns were "bickering". Oh boy, I can't wait for him to host the next debate.

The guy's about as insightful as Mr. Magoo.

And senile as McCain.

The McScum campaign must have shitted their pants to see Michelle on Larry King and Jon Stewart (she was fantastic on both of them).

You just made me notice something:

Neither GOP candidate can appear anywhere except on Fox, since even the "lifestyle" interviews are too tough for Palin to handle.

Pretty difficult to get the message out beyond the Repub faithful when you've boxed yourself in that hard. As media strategies go it's entirely suicidal. And a tacit admission of defeat.

I like it :)

Yeah, remember the McLames' last visit to "The View" the step-ford wife complained that the gals "picked their bones"; I am not sure about you, but I felt the questions asked were mild, and the lying responses were not challenged. IF that's "picked to the bones"; what would the robot Cindy McLame think if she ha to go in front of Chris Matthews or even Wolf Blitzer?

Desperate. Sad. Pathetic. McCain/Palin '08.

Holy Flurking Schnitt.

I hope they doM/i> unleash Michelle on these bozos. She's totally tough enough to take them on.

argh, sorry for the sad formatting

user-pic

Yeah she is.

But man, what political limbo - this just keeps going lower.

I guess this now makes the "First Dude's" association with the AIP an issue.

user-pic

That would be the First Dud.

And I guess Cindy's drug use, including stealing from a non-profit, is on the table now, too. Since J. Sidney used his connections to cover up the criminal activity, he should be asked about abuse of power.

PEACE

Won't happen. Not unless the Obama campaign raises these matters directly (which they won't). The beauty of this strategy (solely from the McCain standpoint) is you can make any charge you want, get as downright filthy as possible (the only restraint being one's own moral compass), and so long as the MSM are dedicated to 'Objectivity', they will report everything you say, no matter how demented or demonstrably untrue (what journalist wants to risk it all by telling the emperor that he has no soul?).

The McCain campaign not only has the moral compass of a child molester, they employ it with a true sense of adventure (they seem preoccupied with discovering exactly how low they can sink and still get away with it), and the full knowledge that the Obama campaign will not even begin to descend to their level.

You are so right. Obama has too much composure and class to sink to his level. There is SOOO much that he could bring up, but won't. I guess Sidley & Austin are being accused of harboring terrorists? All these Republicans can come up with is that Obama and Michelle knew two people who were passionate about their ideals and were involved in despicable acts in their rebellious years. They were not running for Vice President of a country that their husband wants to be separate from, or palling around with corrupt bankers who cost the US $2 billion. These issues need to be examined more closely by the MSM.

McCain and Palin are doing to themselves what the MSM wouldn't dare do to them. Katie and even Wolff are just sitting back, laughing at the spectacle that is the Republican ticket knowing full well that they don't have to point a critical eye (and be criticized for doing so) at these two; the vicious duo of John & Sarah are their own worst enemies. Their defeat will be crushing to both of them, I'm sure.

fucking assholes. Something like this get's by blood boiling!
Obama shold hold a press conference tomorrow morning, and really bitch slap McCain about this, the racist crowds & Davis defending them etc..

McCain would love that... I think the Obama campaign should simply recirculate the quote about the spouses being off-limits. Or, even run an ad with those words, and talk about how McCain has, yet again, gone back on his word. The focus should be on hammering McCain for going back on his word.

The McCain campaign usually overreaches in its attacks, and, true to form, they've done so again. I can only hope that the blowback is fierce.

Does that mean the "First Dude" is now in play? Actually, the Palin's are such pathetic charletans, this latest McLame salvo can be laughed off. What a sad and pathetic end to what was otherwise an unremarkable political career.

user-pic

It puts Cindy and her family in play, but Obama's too honorable to go that route. I'm sure they anticipated this and have an appropriate response.

user-pic

Does that law firm have a response? How about the Chicago Board of Education, or whoever answers for the university where Ayers works? Should anyone who meets, let alone employs people most Americans have never heard of also lose their heads? In a sports stadium, if possible-- something big enough to hold all the guilty parties?

Inquiring minds, and all that.

No. I think they hould let it ride. McCain is going down already. They are doing this to distract from the Trooper-gate report.

McCain is free falling into an abyss with his own actions. Funny, I thought it would be Gov. Palin to bring him down but its the combination of both.

Very disgraceful. I hope it becomes a runaway train that McCain can't stop.

I can envision it....Front page of the LA Times, Nov. 5th, "Senator Obama wins by a landslide"

The McCain campaign is on a mission to make Mark Penn look like a genius.

Hah! Hard to believe but so far they're succeeding.

They have already rehabilitated the reputation of D. Quayle.

user-pic

McCain once attended a Nationals game where a convicted sex offender was also in the crowd. You can look it up. But this isn't about Senator McCain molesting children- it's about his judgment.

I'm just saying, I wouldn't have stayed in that stadium...

He sat their in the same section for 3 hours!

I think we can all agree any decent human being with good judgment would have immediately left the stadium and then called for the game to be canceled!

user-pic

Or at least suspended...

user-pic

and the molester sent off to Gitmo!

No kidding. In fact, my understanding is that in the state of Arizona-- where McCain lives and which he represents as a Senator, mind you-- there are murderers. How can the MSM not see this? McCain hangs out with murderers. It's just that simple.

user-pic

True, and as their senator he even REPRESENTS them. McCain stands up for murderers. Shocking.

This commentary is HILARIOUS! Why doesn't the Obama campaign use the reasoning here? Assuming you guys would let them use your comments..... :-)
As outlandish as the reasoning is.......it sounds just like the Repugnican.......Republican flacks I am having to watch on Larry King tonight! HooooHawwww!!!!!!

I am more concerned that his cavalier resposne to this association was to dismiss them as someone he sees when walking around the desert.

McCain lived on the same planet at the same time as Josef Stalin. McCain must be taken to task concerning this appalling lack of judgment.

I wouldn't have shared air with such a despicable mass murderer!! No one is suggesting Senator McCain was responsible for the gulags, no one is suggesting that! However, I think it's very fair to ask just how much did Senator McCain know about Stalin's activities before deciding stay on the same planet and share air with him? This raises serious questions about his judgment and the American people deserve an answer!

I guess this also make's Cindy McCain's pill stealing/popping an issue as well. Do we really want a thief in the Whitehouse?

user-pic

How about her mob-connected family?

Big mistake. Obama hates it when they go after Michelle. He's gonna bury the hatchet now.

yup yup! 'first you're not man enough to insult me to my face but then you go even further and send one of your campaign employees to slither out and attack my wife. Senator, if you're going to insult my own or my family's honor please stop hiding behind others and be man enough to say it yourself to my face! '

user-pic

I don't think 'bury the hatchet' means what you think. "To bury the hatchet" means to make peace, to let bygones be bygones.

I think you mean to say that Barack is readying the hatchet....

Bury the hatchet in McCain's head.

No, talk about violence against candidates is out of bounds and off-limits!

Let's focus on the issues.

Let's bury the hatchet in McCain's failed trickle-down economic policies! Let's bury the hatchet in the politics of fear and hatred!

user-pic

Did anyone at this big, famous firm represent Cindy McCain when she went to court for her felony of fraudulently filling bogus narcotic prescriptions?

No? Oh, that's right. She got away with it, without so much as a night in the slammer. And they are talking about Obama's "drug use!"

user-pic

Just like her daddy got off on bootlegging charges when he was represented by future chief justice William Rehnquist.

Too bad he didn't have him the first time he was charged, when he received a felony conviction.

Got any links for my later stroll through troll invested threads?

user-pic

There's quite a lot on the web about it, and here's a pretty extensive article on Jim Hensley and the source of his wealth from 2000:

http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2000-02-17/news/haunted-by-spirits/6

This guy must be obese, all the fucking heavy breathing makes me feel as if I'm on the business end of a sexual predators phone call.

Those damn bastards. If they go after Michelle, we'll go after that prick Todd.

Todd Palin was already in the mix.

If it's fair and relevant to go after Obama for sitting at a Board of Directors table with a former terrorist then I think another candidate's getting into bed (literally!) with a current (until a couple of years ago) member of a secessionist party is just as relevant.

Sometimes I wish there was a huge megaphone that could be hooked up and all the rabid, angry, ready to believe the worst voters who are crowding into the McCain/Palin rallies could hear a full list of the things that the Obama campaign has NOT gone into that would have made such good fodder:
-- Cindy's addiction
-- Cindy's theft from her non-profit
-- cheating on and then abandoning Carol
-- Palin's connections to AIP
-- Troopergate
-- McCain's confessions to the Viet Cong
-- Keating scandal
-- a host of other 'questionable' associations
-- etc, etc, etc,

I know they can't, because that would of course be bringing them up -- but sometimes I'd just love to read the list to a frothing-at-the-mouth voter convinced that Obama is somehow suspicious because he's known 3 'shocking' people in his life.

Speaking of Cindy, did she look really weird (or maybe it was wired) when she did her mother-outrage bit the other day. Should put that clip up side by side with Michelle refusing to 'go there' on Larry King and say "Which would you chose for the next First Lady?"

Todd is really handsome! Please don't go after Todd!! ...... well maybe just to make him sweat ..... in a tight old wifebeater ..... with a couple days scruff on his chin ....

user-pic

Cue SFCWallace to tell us how this is the equivalent of something Obama's doing.

I can't wait for this one.

Where's he been? Banninated, I hope. I haven't seen him in awhile.

user-pic

I'm losing interest.

Good god. What are they drinking at McCain headquarters?

They're only hurting themselves at this point.

user-pic

I think JM on the front page has it right.

McCain knows he's going to lose this thing. At this point, he wants to give the double-Y-chromosomers someone to hate for it besides him. He wants someone to believe he's not a total loser after this thing is all over.

Kool Aid laced with Everclear.

Wow, that's it then, the whole attack? If so, I know a few people at Sidley & Austin who are going to be thrilled to find out that pretty much anyone who goes to work at their firm is now considered by the McCain people to be a terrorist.

Perhaps they'll take McCain to court for defamation and slander.

Wow. That's appalling.

Poor DC media. John McCain, Man Of Honor, is a complete fraud.

Have they moved past denial and into anger yet?

McCain is getting more pathetic by the day.

Gee, I thought redbaiting fell with the Berlin Wall.

Sidley & Austin? Sidley & Austin is the Secret Headquarters of Obama's Hidden Domestic Terrorist Conspiracy Against America?

Wow. Just . . . wow.

Exactly.

I'm sure that all of Sidley's corporate clients that are Republicans will now fire their terrorist loving lawyers.

user-pic

This is it - they are doing everything they can to get Barack to lose his cool. They know this is the one thing that gets him really angry, going after his wife. They're hoping he'll blow it at the final debate. McCain is baiting him now. It's his last hope. He wants Obama to end up doing an Ed Muskie.

But I think they're handing Barack yet another gift. Because, if he addresses this in the debate directly at McCain, eye to eye, in a cool, clear way, he can use it to make a very solid case for what a lying, dishonorable sack of shit McCain really is. Tell him to his face. Calmly.

user-pic

Well, I don't know why the wives should be off-limits if they're out campaigning for the candidates. Anyone who's out campaigning is fair game, in my view. McCain was silly to ever say otherwise, but yes, his going back on that is a sign of desperation.

Still, this particular attack is just pathetically dumb.

Pack of Dogs chasing cars. Here is my question, even if it somehow comes out that The Obama's and Ayer's had dinner every Sunday with each other, what would that mean?

The dude never served jail time, he is a professor at a respectable university, was the Chicago Citizen of the Year in 1997, what's the issue?

If this is such a fucking issue, where was McCain in the past 26 years seeking to get this Terrorist behind bars? Why is he still free to roam the America of which he wants to be President? Did the US Government ever have any issues with a US Senator hanging with this guy?

Honestly McCain, what's the big fucking deal?

Again, he reminds me of the guy playing a game who realizes he is losing and wants to blame it on the refs or the other guy for his failed ways. It's never his fault...

Another WEEK! Another Couple Trillion Dollars Lost!

Hey! Lets talk about a 63 year old professor who tries to help children learn!

user-pic

McCain will chase Ayers to the gates of Hell, I suppose.

user-pic

Well, he has a plan to find him, at least. And if he becomes president, he WILL find Bill Ayers. My friends.

Maybe he will invade Iowa looking for Ayers, overthrow that Dictatorship, and occupy them for years. As a consequence, the price of Corn triples under McCains administration and Ayers lives free in the streets of Chicago...

IMO:

It is time for the Obama campaign to turn the page on McCain. Other than at the debate (and then sparingly), Obama should not even mention John McCain anymore. Don't even refer to "my opponent." What's the point? Obama's basically won already. He should just focus on the issues and completely ignore McCain, who is beneath him.

He should cancel his debate appearance. "If he want's to attack my wife, he can talk to himself for 90 muntes!"
Deny him of a platform, since they are running out of money.

I like that even better. Hold a conflicting 90-minute press conference in Tallahassee to discuss the issues, and answer any policy question. The press couldn't stay away if they wanted.

You're on to something there -- definitely! It would have been insanity before but it feels right at this point! ----- Put McCain in the position of that forgettable/forgotten Rep. who ran against Mario Cuomo one time. Cuomo sat in the Capitol doing his job as Governor while this poor schmuck traveled around the state with a cardboard cutout of Cuomo, "debating" it at each stop. --- And being ignored would probably be worse for McCain than any outright attack could ever be.

I wish . . . but he hasn't won already. There's still the little matter of Dibold machinery, voter intimidation, sending out fake change-of-address-of-polling-place cards, cleansing the voter registration rolls of blacks and Union members.
Then, of course, there is the great possibility of an October Surprise . . .

user-pic

Was there any sort of response from reporters?

I think, had they started this bullshit back in July, it might have had some effect. But after two debates in which Obama came across as likable, calm, and smart, it's going to be more difficult to link him to scary terrorists, or whatever it is they're trying to link him to these days.

Anyone want to take bets on whether the McCain capaign will raise the Larry Sinclair claims? I would have said "not a chance" about a month ago. Now? Don't know.

McCain/Palin 2008BC

My Friends,

Vote for us because we are a pair of complete Ayers Heads!

By the way. Is anyone else having trouble posting on here, while using Firefox. It just started this afternooon, and I can still post using Internet Explorer.

Also, I can still use Firefox on the blogs, so it is something that is confined to these threads.

user-pic

I'm using Firefox. And a Mac.

Thanks TheraP

I got it sorted out. It was an update, today, on a Firefox extension, that was causing the problem. I deleted it, and am now able to post here again. It was very strange, because the glitch did not prevent me from posting on the blogs, only on here.

What a stretch. I guess that means that because I've actually driven by Sharon Tates former residence that I'm somehow connected to Charles Manson???

How is that logic and why would anyone bother to give these people air time.

Michelle Obama was so poised and dignified on Larry King and on The Daily Show. This is what she gets for it.

Obama in a landslide! Hey Michelle, I'm an Obama Mama too!

user-pic

Driving by Sharon Tate's residence definitely makes you an alcolyte of Charles Manson, in much the same way that Sarah Palin being able to see Russia makes her an expert on foreign policy.

user-pic

Don't forget that Cindy McCain's dad (source of the beer bucks) was a convicted felon. Are we sure he wasn't Black or maybe a Mexican?

Links please?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Hensley

"Following his discharge in 1945, Hensley and his brother went back to work for Marley in his United Sales Company in Phoenix and United Distributors in Tucson.[6][7] In 1948, both brothers were prosecuted by the federal government and convicted of multiple counts of falsifying liquor records in a conspiracy to conceal illegal distribution of whiskey against post-war rationing regulations.[14][9][4] Jim Hensley received a six-month sentence (later upheld but suspended by an appeals court) while his brother received a year in federal prison, and both were fined.[4] In 1953, Jim Hensley and Marley were charged by federal prosecutors with falsifying liquor records.[14] Defended by future Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist, they were acquitted.[14][9]

If the sentence was 6 months, I'm not sure it would be a felony-level crime. Don't know.

user-pic

I'm pretty sure that stuff was a felony back in the day. Don't mess with the federal excise tax.

And I can see the moon from my back yard. Guess that makes me a freakin' astronaut.

Agree. What a dangerous world it could be if all of the sudden we are connected to our co-workers because, umm, we worked for the same company?

If that is the case, McCain is sullied by Obama who is sullied because of Ayers and Obamas wife worked in the same company as Ayers wife, because after all, McCain and Obama work for the same company.

Makes a lot of sense....

I guess I should do a background check of all my co-workers because they may be kooks and it could get me in trouble some day...

user-pic

Yes it was a dangerous world when the House UnAmerican Activities Committee were dragging people in front of them to explain why they weren't communists based on their associations.

Josh asked which McLame we'd see next - John McCarthy McLame.

Is there an association between McCain and McCarthy? McCarthy was from Wisconsin and McCain made that speech there yesterday and today. Maybe we can cut to the chase and have the Senate censure McCain the same way McCarthy was censured...

Plus, both their names start with M-C-C-A. Plus McCarthy's first name - Eugene - is the Greek version of John.

Oh, and by the way, remember Manchurian Candidate? It's about a veteran who had been a POW and was brainwashed by the Communists but has no memory of it. And he's described as "an insufferable man." Sounds like McCain, right?

Since throwing crazy accusations out there seems to be legitimate campaigning now.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056218/

Terrorist!

Up next: Obama and Ayers pets known to have fraternized! Obama and Ayers reported to have used same parking space! Obama seen entering dry cleaning establishment once frequented by Ayers!

Breaking: Obama/Ayers drink from same public fountain!

Considering McCain didn't support MLK having his own holiday, maybe he wishes they had separate fountains...

The Uncle Fester/Wasilla-cone Wonder camp are taking another page out of the Cheney/Rove playbook, the one they used against Joe Wilson. So now they're declaring Michelle "fair game." Yeah, that's Change You Can Believe In, my fellow prisoners.

At that time, one of the senior partners in Sidley's Chicago office was Sam Skinner...who went on to be the first Pres Bush's Chief of Staff.

The web grows more tangled. Look for Sidley to be prominantly featured in the next Dan Brown book

That is a campaign that is in deep trouble

The more they do this, the more pathetic they look.
The only people that believe them are the wingnutz, and unfortunately the hysteria they are whipping up is potentially dangerous.

Newsweek Poll: Obama 52 McCain 41

http://www.newsweek.com/id/163339

user-pic

I wonder if that's why the attack came....

Diversionary tactic?

McCain is McCreepy. Go President Obama!

New campaign slogan: McCain the Disgrace! Ambition first; country second.

user-pic

Hmmmm. What might they be trying to distract attentioin from with this entirely bogus claim?

Is it possible they might have some sort of advance word on the outcome of the Troopergate investigation?

I suspect those seven witnesses that refused to honor the subpoenas carbon copied the McCain camp the questions asked so they could get their stories straight which gives McCain a heads up what Branchflower was looking for and the areas of concern.

As I said on another thread, after all is said and done, mcCain needs to be frog-marched into the Senate Chambers in front of an Ethics Panel to explain his misconduct as a US Senator and the racist campaign he ran against a fellow US Senator.

Ayers is a professor at one of the best universities in the world. Certainly wouldn't want to be associated with that guy. It's not like he's Chuck Keating or something....

Let's not get carried away, now. Ayers teaches at the Unversity of Illinois at Chicago, not the University of Chicago.

user-pic

I heard John McCain serves in the Senate with someone who is known to have ties to terrorists.

How does McCain respond to these serious charges?

McCain serves in the senate with Larry Craig. McCain must solicit sex in bathroom stalls!

I met a guy who knew a guy who overheard someone saying he once saw Obama flick a cigarette butt in a storm drain.

Wasn't that Cindy McCain who did that? That's what I heard.

user-pic

Obama started Global Warming! Why does Barack hate America? and the snowflake babies?

user-pic

Two guys who I happenned to go to high school with are now serving life terms for murder. I guess this means I 'pal around with murderers.'

Robert

P.S. It will be interesting (albeit nauseating) to see what else the McCain campain will pull out of its collective ass in the days leading to Nov. 4th.

user-pic

Are we sure that YOU are not a murderer? Just saying...

Robert, it is not that you have murderer friends, but that you hid it until now, and never even called some random TV station to publically condemn them.

user-pic

LOL!!

user-pic

Er, sorry; I know that should have been 'whom' in the above.

Robert

You mean that den of iniquity of the left Sidley Austin law firm which lobbies on behalf of the likes of Bayer, American Electric Power, and Master Card? That is awful, awful stuff.

I have a few words to say...MwWar's wife drugs addiction..

I think they know they have lost Latest newsweek poll: Obama +11

Is this about a lesbian affair? We just don't know, do we? The suspense is killing the average nimwit,...

Is it desperation or sleight of hand?

I wonder if Nov. 4 gives McSatan enough time to sink his campaign so low that they all suddenly get swallowed up by a fiery canyon. It could happen!

user-pic

I really like you.

You just made my day. Taos is unbecredible. I once fell asleep in a meadow on that there big mountain behind town. There's a sky color you see nowhere else on earth. (Sigh)

user-pic

It took me many years to get here.

I got here in the nick of time.

I'm still thanking whatever the hell spirit it is that guided me to sell in Colorado all of sudden last summer and by this house.

Yes - the light here and the sky is like no other. I maintain that you haven't really seen light unless you've seen this light.

Congratulations on making it to heaven on earth. Well, gonna go gather my babies around me and play some music. Have a wonderful sunset.

user-pic

A fellow New Mexican! I'm about 60 miles south of you, TenaX.

Hi -

I'm only a part time New Mexican right now, alas. But that's a lot better than no time!

TeenaX and Moto - I want you guys to get together. I really think you are right for each other.

Unfucking real.

John

Who among us has lived a life on such the straight and narrow -- indeed, both ourself and our spouse -- that teams and teams and teams of smear researchers would have to use such pitiful scraps against us? It's incredible that Barack and Michelle have lived lives so free of real trouble.

user-pic

I know -I'm totally amazed at just how clean these people are.

I know I have a few dealbreakers in my own past that would forever preclude me from running for President. For example:

Thirty years ago my ex-husband stole cable television -- all 10 channels -- for a few months and I knew about it.

Back in 1978, I got drunk at a party and promised to play saxophone in the City Band. I am not, nor have I ever been, a saxophone player.

One time in college, I went with my boyfriend to his freshman psychology class, where it turned out they were having a test. Instead of getting up and leaving, I took the test but didn't put my name on it. (I heard later that I had scored rather well.)

I'm afraid if the Republicans hear about this, they will hunt down my children and make them spill the beans about the rest of my shady past.

user-pic

O don't get me started - my list is so long -

I plan to spend the last years of my life reliving all that, too.

;)

John McCain is a fucking ooward who hides behind women. He lets his wife and BFF Sarah say nasty things about Obama (and now Obama's wife) because he is a too much of a coward to say it to Obama (or Obama's wife) himself.

Total fucking coward. Piss on yourself you coward.

How do they come up with this stuff? Does the RNC have a team of detectives on staff?

Is it just my partisan eye, or are the Republicans really that much better at revealing these obscure, tenuous connections?

Not that we should, but why can't we swiftboat?

Swift Boat Veterans For Truth: McCAIN WAS PRISON PROSTITUTE!

Hey, prove them wrong.... I'm just sayin'.

and it is now reported that poodle was dealing with Charles Keating and made lots of money, even after the scandal...
And McWar said he didn't know...

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Wouldn't the more logical inference be that if one of the largest, most conservative law firms in the country didn't htink that Dorhn's past wasn't a problem, then we should not think it is a problem either?

Yeah, this is perfect. Now maybe some lawyers that worked there will give interviews and say they don't know what the problem is.

user-pic

This is so pathetic. Throw enough (any) shit against the wall and hope it sticks. Not only does it fall far short of the definition of the word tenuous, but it is kind of ironic to see the McCain campaign keep soiling their own in their desperation. First, Walter Annenberg, who could be fairly said to be an uber Republican, Reagan-appointed ambassador, etc., and now Sidley & Austin which is a blue stocking, corporate, management firm extraordinaire with deep Republican ties. Duck, incoming. Evidently, they couldn't care less about the collateral damage done to their once (and hopefully, now former, like everyone else who has gotten a whiff of this Steve Schmidt-inspired odious campaign) allies.
Just when you thought they couldn't sink any lower...

user-pic

The people making these charges for McCain are the same people who smeared McCain's family in 2000 for Bush. McCain then did something unbelievable - he hired the same people who smeared his own family to help his campaign.

Is there anything lower than that?

Now they're smearing Obama's family. I think Barack should point that out - that McCain hired people who slandered his own family to now slander Obama's family.

Integrity? What integrity? McCain has none left.

This is ri-goddamn-diculous! I'm really interested to see what the Obama camp says in response to this large amount of crap. Esp. when McSleaze says spouses are off limits....jeez.

I have it on unimpeachable authority that McSlime has spent 72 years, 72 YEARS!!!, inhabiting the same spiral arm of the galaxy as the Borg.

Now I'm not saying McScum is a Borg, or even a Borg sympathizer. This is about McPuke's judgement. He had a choice. He could have left. He stayed. He's not fit to...erm...well, anything, actually, the slimy fuck.

Is it wrong to beat down a cripple?

The McCain camp must really be freaking out that the Alaska Legislature's report on Palin-gate is going to be issued and they're throwing tons of chaff (aviation reference) to throw the heat-seeking media blitz off Palin's trail.

user-pic

Where is that fucking report? Are they going to sit on it until 5 PM Eastern time?

It comes out after the close of the MSM news cycle. A little harder these days, but they wait until dark...

user-pic

Dark here? Or dark in Alaska?

That'd be Tuesday.

user-pic

Just so you know, 5pm Alaska time is 6pm California time and 9pm East coast time.

testing

McBush and his entourage offer the perfect illustration for the word 'scumbags'.
He was slapped with a lack of ethics admonition for his role in Keating's rapacious devastation of the Savings and Loans, Cindy (in lieu of hard time, i guess) was placed in a federal diversion program for illegal posession of prescription drugs and Sarah is under investigation for abuse of authority.
What a trio of self-righteous, sanctimonious little prigs...ugh!

As I wrote earlier today, John McCain has turned toward the Dark Side.

Anyone remember in 2000 when some were calling him "Luke Skywalker"? Because he was a pilot or whatever?

He's actually Anakin Skywalker. He's come under the influence of Sen. Palpatine (Rove) who has advised him to give into his hate and turn toward the Dark Side. His rage will be his downfall. Fortunately, he's too old to be rebuilt as a Darth Vader.

Although wives are out campaigning for their husbands, they are not running for public office and should therefore be off limits.

I'm very disappointed no one on Capital Hill is coming out to tell McCain to stop.

Love your avatar! Felix domesticus.
That's the face of an Obama voter on the morning of November 5.
Good little Democrat kitteh!

It'll never work. Their heat sensors are locked in on Pailin's tail. They'll never be fooled by chaff. Only anti-aircraft SAMs and AAMs can save her now.

filed and saved as ammo to use against McCain next Wednesday.

Keep it coming McCain.

user-pic

ms. hilton, you look so smart - you could be VP!

All this Ayers non-sense seems idiotic...unless Mccain is attempting to goad Obama into anger. Sadly for Mccain, Senator Obama is a rational adult well able to control his feelings. Unlike Johnny, who still has temper tantrums, holding his breath until he faints or fighting with people in casinos. Or perhaps he really has lost his marbles along with his temper and integrity

Stupid. stupid. stupid. Haven't they seen the Fox poll (or any of the National polls, for that matter) - the Ayers thing isn't working. Attaching Michelle to Ayers is such a huge stretch, this may really be the end of McCain. He and they won't stop - it's a hate thing and they can't help themselves.

This has been put out by the campaign:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/4days
Who is Barack Obama?

lots of footage of Michelle too.

Thanks Limo. Almost made me cry.

I'm a pretty tough nut to crack, but I did cry. Twice.

Just when you thought you couldn't possibly say "just when you thought they couldn't get any lower" again....

All this is doing is making McCain look like a bigger and bigger p*ssy every day. Either he's completely gutless, and doesn't have the balls to say what he expects others to say. Or he doesn't have the balls to make them quit. Hell, he can't even compete with his own running mate. And this is the guy that's supposed to scare people? Who, women and old repugs? He can't even do that anymore.

This guy is just pathetic. Even if by some absolute miracle he were to win, who the hell is gonna respect him? How does he think he's gonna govern when he's completely alienated the party he keeps claiming he'll reach across the aisle to. The decent people in his party are embarrassed by him, and the Palin morons aren't going to sit still while he tries to please the people outside his ever-shrinking base. The ever-shrinking base with the ever-expanding foreheads.

user-pic

These folks are moles. Just tunneling underground. Probably I'm giving moles a bad name. Perhaps worms. How about worms? These folks are lower than moles. They are nothing but worms!

So you're telling me that two smart women in Chicago would end up at the same huge law firm?

Inconceivable!

Where the hell is the troopergate report?

user-pic

Yeah, where is that fucking report? How can they just sit on this report?

Folks, we are talking to ourselves and preaching to the choir. I strongly urge every member of this blog to send letters to the editor to their home town papers. This is my letter I sent this morning. I try to send at least one letter a day and often a letter to the papers in the areas where the two mavericks cum bigots are appearing.

At precisely the moment when this nation, brought to its knees by the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, needs to unite and act as one, John McCain and Sarah Palin are recklessly trying to divide the American people. Forget about "Country First". McCain and Palin are putting Campaign First. In stump speech after stump speech, McCain and Palin are actively and knowingly stirring up racial hatred and class warfare. This is not only criminal (there are laws against inciting to violence), it is absolutely the kind of selfish divide and conquer politics that dragged us down into this financial mess in the first place.

We are only going to get through this crisis with calm, cool and intelligent leadership. To this end, Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden have already started putting together a transition team that includes some of the best and brightest economists in the country. Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin plan to wait until after the election to assemble their team. Does this mean that they don't plan to change anything?

The time has come to say NO to "us against them" politics and to start voting for our self interests: our jobs, our homes, our economy, our security, and our future. After eight years of divisive, me first politics, it is time for a leader who really will put America first and lead us, as one great nation, back to prosperity.

user-pic

Michelle Obama joined an 1800 member firm the year that Bill Ayers' wife left the 1800 member firm.

Therefore, vote for me.

user-pic

Hang on a minute - This means that every fucking member of the Illinois State Bar Association is formally associated with a terrorist.

If Bernardine (and I remember her better than I do her husband) went to work in a law firm that has to mean she has a law license.

Follow me here - they will not issue you a law license if you have been guilty of any crime of moral turpitude and that doesn't just mean a criminal record. If they had a problem with her they would not have issues her a law license.

Good god almighty -

I found this, it was in 1985, apparently she never got a law license in Illinois or New York.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F02E4D71739F933A25751C0A963948260

Still, none of this is of any consequence. Maybe if there was absolutely no other news happening. Making the connection would require too many other connections to happen which is far from logical.

user-pic

Is she a legal assistant then?

if the fact that a reputable law firm is willing to hire this Dohrn woman isn't an indication that she's an america hating evildoer then i don't know what is.

So does this mean all of Sidney & Austin's employees were terrorist sympathizers? Why would Sidney & Austin hire a domestic terrorist?

user-pic

Not just that - every member of the State Bar of Illinois - she's a member. Ipso facto - every lawyer licensed by the state of Illinois is a terrorist sympathizer.

Actually, at this point these attacks are starting to get kinda funny...

(not the crap at the rallies, of course)

My friends, I was at Sidley when Justice O'Connor hired me to clerk for her, and clerked on the First Circuit where Kathy Boudin's brother is a judge. Now do you see where these wacko liberal Reagan appointee judges get their crazy notions of habeas corpus from?

So does this mean all of Sidney & Austin's employees were terrorist sympathizers? Why would Sidney & Austin hire a domestic terrorist?

user-pic

I think Obama should start tying the negativity to the international unrest in the financial markets. Instead of selling confidence and trust, the Republicans are selling fear and distrust. I have to believe it really is contributing to the emotional climate both here and abroad. This country has to be governable after the election no matter who wins and to "lead the free world" we have to behave like something other than a lynch mob.

user-pic

I had thought that was what Obama has been saying over and over - they don't want to talk about the economy so they just attack me.

user-pic

I'm saying they can go a step further and acuse McCain of contributing to the fear and distrust that is driving the markets down. The last thing you do in the middle of a financial panic is stoke the emotional fervor of the mob.

user-pic

O I see - I didn't get your other facet, you're right, he's not saying that.

I would like McCain or his Mooselini running mate to have the cojones to say this to Michelle's face. She would clock both Boris AND Natasha in the face for pulling her into this bogus off-roading...

"Mooselini"... HA! Good one. She makes the dog sleds run on time.

As long as it isn't in Pakistan.

I believe this is proof positive that the McCain campaign does need a Weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

STAY. ON. MESSAGE.

McCain is trying to drag Obama into a dogfight to move the message away from the economy.

If anyone here speaks to anyone in the Obama campaign- tell them to please let Barack ignore this.

This is just some coward during a conference call. Stay on the economy. Defend your wife's honor after all hope for McCain is lost.

Of course he'll ignore it.

I dont think Barack Obama will stoop to their level of attacks. He has much more class than that. If you ever push and push issues like this, you will find out, that it will make you look even worse..
If they say anything bad of obama's family, it is open season on john sidney mccain his wife, and his kids also. he (john mccain) wasn't even born in the United States..check out wikipedia..
but really, I think he has more class than mccain's people...

What's funny about reading some of the comments is that they apply logic to McCain's smear. There isn't any. There isn't supposed to be any. It's barroom taunt.

I assume this is partly to stir up the base, and partly to try to throw Obama off his stride. I assume the Obama campaign understands that McCain will do anything, and that includes attacking his wife in the waning days of the campaign -- with, perhaps, the goal of getting Obama get angry and overreach.

I hope folks don't think any of this is easy for Obama, and that just because he has kept his cool so far that he always will. He's very, very good, but he's also a mere mortal.

CNN just showed a clip of McCain telling his audience to be respectful of Sen Obama. Richard Wolf of Newsweek was on Chris Matthews show and said McCain is backing off because his internal polling is showing his negatives soaring through the roof. Plus Fox's own polling shows that the Ayers thing is having no impact. So watch for the walk back by the McCain camp over the next few days.

Yeah, he waits until Friday PM after Rush is off the air so his base won't be told he is a wimp by their daily hypnotist. Wimp. Say that to Joey
Biden's face in Delaware Johhny!

From MSNBC's First Read:

From NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy
McCain just called on his supporters to be respectful at his town hall.

"We want to fight, and I want to fight, but we will be respectful," McCain said to boos at first. "I want everyone to be respectful," he then said and people began to clap.

In response to a later question he added, "You can be respectful and point out facts," as he called on his supporters to point out facts to their neighbors but be respectful.

*** UPDATE *** McCain just added, "He is a decent person and a person who you do not have to be scared as president of the United States."

More to come.

Just saw that.

Interesting...

Just watched the video on MSNBC. McCain basically said it though clenched teeth.

user-pic

The adults have spoken to him! Hot Dog!

user-pic

Well, someone finally hammered some sense into his head.

I ain't givin him nuttin. Just another flip flop in his erratic campaign if ya ask me. Tell that to Joey Biden in Scranton, sailor boy. Better bring a couple of Petty Officers with ya to drag ya home.

Agreed. Is he going to take down the ads that imply all the crap that he's now disowning?
Fat chance. And Palin won't say anything like he just did...

The problem for McCain is that you cant stick the genie back into the bottle

user-pic

Not the inflamed supporters. That's the genie.

A-MEN!

AMEN!!

Wouldn't you love to know WHO? .... and to have been a fly on the wall?

Important question: Was Palin with him? (Maybe it's something he doesn't have nerve to say when she's nearby on stage???)

user-pic

I have asked the question before and unless I missed it there has been no answer... Everyone just seems to assume this Murtagh nut says Ayers firebombed his house. Yet he says his fathers problem was with the Black Panther Party. When did the Weather Underground become the Black Panther Party? Is there any historical record supporting anything Murtagh says? Why should we trust as fact anything any of these McCain surrogates are saying?

user-pic

My thoughts exactly! Here is Murtagh's little essay on the topic:

http://www.city-journal.org/2008/eon0430jm.html

Note he presents no direct evidence whatsoever that the Weather Underground was responsible. The police never got so far as even identifying a suspect.

The only circumstantial evidence he presents is that several members of a contingent of the Weather Underground blew themselves up a few weeks later while they were making pipe bombs. However, even this fact is inconclusive at best. According to the police, the house in which they were making those bombs contained enough explosives to level half the block. However, the bombs detonated at the Murtagh residence were gerry-rigged gasoline bombs, not pipe bombs.

Finally, as you note, the reason why the Murtagh family was targeted in the first place was that his father, a federal judge, was presiding over the trial of 21 members of the Black Panthers. John Murtagh presents no evidence whatsoever to rule the Black Panthers out as a much more obvious suspect.

John Murtagh is a fraud (surprise!) who is obviously using his victimhood to get his name in the paper.

user-pic

And by the way, can we now start asking the question which has been nagging me for a while:

Have we ever, in our history as a nation, had a certifiable home-wrecker as the First Lady of the United States?

I'd really like to know! Of course, the drug abuse thing has been done to death (practically seems a qualification for First Lady at this point). But the stealing drugs from a charity - like a common crack whore - also seems quite new.

Wow...um...this has become just stupid. I can't quite figure out how they think this is going to help them any (though I can think of lots of ways this could blow up in his face). I think the nice men in white coats need to haul the McShame campaign away--the screws that were loose in their heads clearly fell out.

user-pic

Sorry I did not proof read the original before it was sent: Here it is again corrected

I have asked the question before and unless I missed it there has been no answer... Everyone just seems to assume this Murtagh nut is telling the truth when he says Ayers firebombed his house. Yet he says his fathers problem was with the Black Panther Party. When did the Weather Underground become the Black Panther Party? Is there any historical record supporting anything Murtagh says? Why should we trust as fact anything any of these McCain surrogates are saying

Stick to John McCain if you want to attack. Because it will have a stronger effect.

Point out his cowardice.

user-pic

I don't think Obama's going to lose his cool over this. I think he's going to laugh at it. Because, face it, it's totally freakin' absurd! And every person on the planet who isn't blinded by hatred knows it's absurd.

No, Obama's not going to get angry. He's going to mock McCain for this. Mock him mercilessly, and then we'll see who loses his cool.

Please Phoebe. Felon links on the beer distributor?

user-pic

I know -I'm totally amazed at just how clean these people are.

It's obvious that the Obamas saw early that their work, and Barack's political activity would make their lives subject to a lot of scrutiny, so they took the sensible route of living lives which would bear scrutiny. Pretty simple!

But McCain sure is raising the expectations that he has an Obama-destroying narrative to give at the next debate. And he ain't got shit, and has descended to attacking Michele.
The way I see it, all McCain has to do to fail miserably at the next debate is not mention any of this stuff. Obama has no need to defend himself if McCain doesn't raise it. And if he doesn't, he's a punk, a skirt-hiding, can't say it to my face punk. And nothing McCain can say will add up to a knock-out, or even staggering blow.
McCain has painted himself into a corner. He's stuck. He's done, so done.

user-pic

Some years ago I was involved in a legal matter straightening out a family inheritance. My side of the family used Preston Gates, my cousins used Sidley Austen. I have since felt bad about supporting the firm the hired Jack Abromoff, but at least I wasn't consorting with terrorists like my cousins.

Hows your effort to poll hip handymen coming?

You seem to have a bit of an obsession with the idea of me and hip handy men.

Should I be worried?

TROOPERGATE UPDATE:

At 2:15 Alaska time (6:15 est) reporters waiting on the report were told to wait another hour, or roughly 3:15 AK time (7:15 est). So there should be some info within the hour.

You can keep up on it here:

http://community.adn.com/adn/node/132527

Just hit "Refresh" every now and then.

user-pic

Obama does not have to say a thing! That's the beauty of it. If McCain dares to bring it up, Obama can rip it to pieces. And if McCain doesn't, Obama doesn't need to say a thing.

For a little fun, try and imagine how McCain can present this Ayers thing at the debate such that it constitutes a powerful narrative of betrayal and treason. It's gonna take some doing. And I repeat, after this week, McCain has got to bring it up. He is so lost.

C Paris, that was the best comment I've read all day.

I think that McCain's attacks are doing more than hurting his own brand, I think that he and his followers are taking down the Republican party and conservatism with them, with the economic crisis helping them along. Attacking Obama's wife? Yeah, lets see how well that works out.

I bet McCain's latest tactic of calling for civility is just bob and weave.

These negative attacks wont help McCain win, but it almost ensures the continued deep divisions in this country, providing a shot in the arm for the red state/blue state mentality. The bitter attacks on Barack and Michelle is fast becoming the republicans Clintonization of the Obamas.

Get used to it folks. No matter what Obama does in the next four or eight years, or what he does for the remainder of his life after his political career is over, there will be those on the right attacking him.

Obama should just refuse to debate until he cleans up his campaigns act and stop attacking Michelle. Pull what Johnny boy thretend and refuse to show up at a debate, until his campaign cleans up it's act!

1.There is no room for violence in this campaign, while we are in a critical point in out economy.

2. I will suspend telling the truth about McCain if he wi;; suspend his lies.

No offense, but that's the worst advice I've ever heard. Obama would look beyond weak.

user-pic

+1

Agree. Better to go the other way as someone said upthread ---- just ignore him. When asked a question about, say, the economy, outline his position and support it and conclude. If asked a question about McCain's position in contrast to his, answer that but quickly move to focus on his own. Let McCain (who has little else to say) be the only one being negative and turning attention to his opponent. Obama should pretend he's already president and simply explain the issue, whatever it is, to the American people in the same way he would if there was no one else on the stage. --- In addition to making him look way Presidential, it would probably enrage McCain more than any sort of attention, even negative attention, would.

Rut-roh. Obama has warned McCain more than once about attacking his family.

By that "association", I'm a convicted felon.
In the spring of 1984, I audited some loan files at Lincoln Savings.
In 1986, I audited files at American Continental Corp.
Both were Keating corporate entities.
Oh, yeah, plus I went out the side door of 55 Water Street for lunch and probably passed right by Martin Siegel & Ivan Boesky exchanging the briefcase with $$$.

Demand a personal apology from John re: Michelle or pull out from the debate and have his own press conference at the sam time as debates!

uh.... um..... Wow! Ya' know, I have never tried heroine, but I think this pitiful excuse of a "campaign" might be a little clearer to me if I too was throwing my life away.

user-pic

'Ever read Reinhold Niebuhr? Barack Obama has

You listen to me Hussein Tena X! I don't care what kind of high-falutin, elitest, nattering Niebuhrs of negativity Obama reads, I'm votin for him anyway! And not even your charming gravatar can vouschafe me! Go ahead, load up your vouschafer and let fly! Hah!

Hahahahahaha. That was really funny.

Wait! I interviewed to work at Sidley when I was in law school -- does that mean that I tried to become a domestic terrorist?!?

user-pic

Obama should just refuse to debate until...

Your CONCERN is noted, troll!

Obama doesn't have to do or say anything! All he has to do is show up at the debate, ready, and he is. If McCain doesn't bring up all the ACORN-Ayers terrorist-pals bullshit, MCcAIN IS TOTALLY PUNCKED, PAWNED, KAPUT. If McCain does bring it up, Wow.
But McCain has got to bring it. He can't tell his followers he's got a knockout narrative of Obama-as-traitor and then sort of forget it at the debate. Why is he debating a terrorist, then?
And if McCain does bring it up...

He is so screwed. The only thing he can do to avoid coming out of the next debate with Obama owning is white ass is something he simply is not capable of doing!!! He will either look demented and apathetic or demented and raving mad.

Gosh, has McCain had good campaign advice, or what?

user-pic

Too late, Johnny boy! McCain is punking himself in advance of the debate! He is now telling rallies to calm down and "Obama is a good man who I have some disagreements with"!!!

What a punk! What a coward!

And then they went gambling at the same casino that night. McCain was seen shooting craps at the same table. OMG, they "might" have been talking about their mutual sex crimes!

Holy crap, they do NOT want to go there. Attacking Michele opens the door to attacks on Cindy. Man, they REALLY don't want to go there.

Can we clear up one thing about this whole Ayers issue. I notice that a number of people are creating blogs which are dedicated to defending Mr. Ayers, and claiming that it is Ayers that the McCain campaign is falsely attacking. It is not. They are attacking Senator Obama, and now his wife, and claiming that the Obamas are fellow travelers with a known terrorist. They are not. That is the big lie. However, the worst thing that we can engage in is to fall for the blogs that are trying to present Mr. Ayers as a living saint who never engaged in any violent acts.

Senator Obama agrees that Ayers has that history, so Ayers should not be the focus of a TPM innocence project. </
